Pitangatuba/Pitomba 5-of-6 Cross Looks Promising So Far
Kevin Jones:
Walked out this morning and saw this beauty ripening-up on my Pitangatuba/Pitomba 5-of-6 Cross plant:
Once it finishes ripening I'll give it a taste test.
So far 5-of-6 looks most promising.
Kevin
K-Rimes:
That looks like the ratio I would like. 1 part tuba, 3 parts pitomba.
ScottR:
Can't wait for taste profile, cool Kevin.
brian:
Yes that looks really appealing. If it tastes as good as it looks you should propagate it.
Also, this makes me wonder how people are getting remotely true to seed eugenias if they hybridize so easily
Kevin Jones:
I have 6 of these crosses all pushing 7 feet tall. This is the first season they have all bloomed and set fruit so I'll be appraising them for fruit quality. So far 5-of-6 has the largest fruit. Blooming and setting fruit like crazy!
Also there is no cracking of the skin like a couple of the others.
Best case scenario... the fruit is delicious and they are graft compatible with Pitangatuba.
