WTB Citrus rootstock for pomelo grafting
« on: September 22, 2024, 04:41:51 PM »
Hi all! I’m to buy for some citrus rootstock to pit some pomelo scions on this winter. The seeds I planted wont be big enough to graft in time.

I will be grafting for my own collection, will not be selling the plants, I know that is a no no in south florida.  I can’t find anyone in state that sells rootstock so I’d greatly appreciate the help.

Thanks!

I'd be surprised if you'll find anywhere selling things to be used as rootstock given that propagation is, itself, restricted in Florida, even if you're not planning to resell. That's a bit silly, but seems like a real barrier in Florida.

Yeah they are very strict down here. Figured it was worth a shot to ask here at least :)

Worst case I've heard of people buying a cheap tree at Walmart, Home Depot, etc sometimes on clearance and top working it to graft scion to it. The tag will display what the rootstock is
