Citrumelo

Unicyclemike:
If you took a cutting from a citrumelo that been grafted on a trifolate.....propagated a cutting from it.....how wingter hardy would the cutting  be?

Mike Adams

kumin:
There should be a few degrees of additional cold resistance, in part due to deeper dormancy. By increasing the height of graft, the trifoliate understock should have additional influence on cold hardiness of the scion.

Unicyclemike:
I want to make sure I am saying this right.  I would not do any grafting. The citrumelo plant that I start from a cutting would go right in the ground...no graft onto a trifolate.

kumin:
In that case trifoliate should no longer have any influence on the hardiness of the cutting. The resultant cutting's hardiness would be determined by the genetics of the original Citrumelo seedling.

Unicyclemike:
Thank you.  Does anyone have any experience with Citrumelo plants that are not grafted or any "citrus hardy" plants that are not grafted?
