They look like sliders from a (*%*^*)__&%

Can anyone tell me what these things are around my kumquat tree hole.  They were not here last night.  I check my citrus 2 times a day.

Thank you.  I looked them up and decided they are not a threat to my tree.

They are not a threat but a sign that something rotting there..
