Those are beauties, eh!

How similar is that to c. sessilis?

Sending well wishes your way Giant Gecko!!!

Thank you very much. Some will call it a dwarf C. sessilis and is very similar. It’s much smaller in height with smaller fruit that are brown. I’m assuming they were fully ripe though when brown in the pictures. To me it looks very similar to C. humilis. https://www.colecionandofrutas.com.br/cordieriahumilis.htm

This is what I would do if I need to ship this Pitanga. These are pictures of when I shipped a Eugenia pisiformis in a 5 gallon pot recently.

Hey TFF,  I have available this Eugenia uniflora var Dwarf Orange in a 10g Root Trapper fabric grow bag for $200.It’s Sellami ‘s favorite Pitanga, he says it has citrus flavors with no astringency or bad aftertaste.  It’s ready to go into a bigger pot or in the ground. It had 4 flowers this year but no fruit set so probably next year. Seed was obtained from Sellami and the other growers that bought seeds  from him the fruit are true to seed having bright orange fruits. The is also a small branch of Marta’s Guaruja Red Pitanga that I grafted on in the Spring.I much prefer pick up because of its size to build a reinforcement to protect it and shipping cost. If someone must have it shipped it’s not going to be cheap. The biggest box I have available in the picture is 15x15x48 and you can see I would have to do a large pruning to fit. Shipping for this box size rate from Pirateship UPS Ground 30lbs from NC to FL is $50 and NC to CA is $90. I can get a larger wardrobe box 21x18x46 for $18 extra to buy it where just a light pruning to fit, plus $20 shipping and handling to cover cost and time to build a wood support to protect it and UPS shipping is NC to FL is $65 and NC to CA is around $110. Any ? please ask and have a great day.

Hey TFF,

Due to an ongoing health issue I’m going to be reducing my collection by half by first frost here in NC around late October. These Cordiera sp Marmelo Anao are an awesome dwarf spreading bush of the Cerrado in Brazil.  Juliano, who found them in Brazil, said the fruits are very tasty like a sweet potato desert. I had one out of 6 flower this year and it flowered in groups of 3 which indicates more than likely it’s a male. Females typically have solitary flowers. I was hoping to keep a pair and spread around pairs to others but plants work on their time schedules. All of these plants should flower next year. There are 2 auctions, both auctions come with 2 plants of the same age. Any questions please ask. Thanks and have a great day. https://www.ebay.com/itm/186644445568

I’m seeing conflicting information on this Honeyberryusa says the later blooming vars with Japanese genetics has lower chill hour requirements and Onegreenworld says the opposite. I just started growing a few here in NC right on the 7b/8a line. I’m going with the late bloomers because of the frost/freeze that can happen around early April.

Very impressed on the offerings!
Wow your pink guava grew way quicker than mine lol.

Thanks Ryan Jo, It’s been tropical like the past month with much rain and humidity. They have grown a lot in the past few weeks.

Great looking plants, and excellent seller, that rotundicosta is impressive

Thanks Kevin, Yeah that Eugenia rotundicosta is looking 100 times better now than what it looked like during late Winter. It has real nice bright orange new growth.

Check out this Alma variety bred by Texas A&M. https://4figlovers.com/product/alma/
There is a seller that I recommend on figbid right now that has cuttings of this variety available.

My concern with shipping to Hawaii would be the lengthy voyage and the resulting stress on the plants.

Kevin

Hey Kevin,

It doesn’t take any longer to ship to HI but it does cost more for sure. I shipped this E. pisiformis using UPS 2 Day Air through eBay 40x12x12 box at 30lb weight was $140 which was actually cheaper than USPS Priority and UPS 3 Day oddly. I created the label on the 4th and dropped off the plant the next day on the 5th. FedEx has a disagreement with eBay shipping to HI so I don’t know how much FedEx would cost.

Here’s another recently using USPS Priority through Pirateship.

Thanks all for the kind words. I’m glad to be able to spread these around into cultivation and enjoy the hobby while doing it.

Eugenia sp Amarela pequeno Cerrado dwarf species grows about 3 feet in height. Beautiful leaves and fruit which is reported by Salvador the collector to be sweet with no astringency. Sold!

Eugenia neomyrtifolia seedling. It needs to be repotted in a 1 gallon and it will grow well during the Summer. Sold!

Eugenia nutans seedling, seed was obtained directly from the famous orchard of Helton’s in Brazil. This species looks very similar to E. longipedunculata/ blastantha but it has bright red/pink new growth. Helton says the fruit is very good. I don’t know any seller in the USA offering it. Sold!

Eugenia sp Pitanga Restinga community pot of 3 seedlings. This is a small species so perfect for growing in pots. It took awhile for these to sprout and slow growing so far. It might grow faster though with the Summer heat and humidity. Sold!

Eugenia complicata Blue Pitanga Dwarf Cerrado species in a deep seedling pot. Sold!

Psidium australe var australe seedling. Once stepped up to a 1 gallon pot it will grow fast this Summer Sold!

Psidium schenckianum and Psidium sp Folha Listra da Caatinga “ Thin Leaf”. Both of these plants I labeled as P. schenckianum but one looks like the sp Thin Leaf , I may have placed the label in the wrong pot. Both are rare Caatinga species that were found in Bahia. I believe these would make a fantastic fruiting Bonsai. Both for $14

Updated the list of available plants. Added Plinia sp Datas.

Nice plants! I won one of the auctions this weekend and added you as a favorite seller to catch future auctions.

Awesome! Thank you. I am actually about to pack your plant now, should be there Wednesday maybe Thursday at the latest.

Eugenia rotundicosta in a 4inch wide 10 deep tree pot. It’s just starting to flush new growth as it lost some leaves during Winter even when put in one of my grow tents. This species is semi deciduous possibly fully deciduous as its natural range is the mountains of south Brazil. $25 plus shipping.

Psidium guineense var Araca de Cacho, it fruits in bunches and is from the Cerrado region. This is my last one available in a 3.3x5 inch pot. It’s ready to step up to a 1 gallon to grow even more this Summer. Sold!

Myrcia sp Argentina in a 2 gallon transplanter fabric grow bag. This species has beautiful leaves and red new growth. Marcos reports the fruits are small but very tasty. It should have a good deal of frost tolerance with it being found in Argentina. To me it looks very similar to Myrcia oblongata. This is my last one available that I was planning on keeping. $39 plus shipping. Sold!

Hey fellow TFF friends,

I still need to thin my collection a little more.

Plinia sp Datas in 1 gallon Rootmaker pot very rare. It’s ready to go into a bigger pot and about to flush new leaves soon. I’d recommend the 3 gallon Root Trapper, have another Datas in that 3 gallon that has grown a lot. These Datas sell on eBay much smaller than this one for a little over $100 plus shipping. This one here is $89 plus shipping. 5% discount for payment with PayPal friends and family.

Sold!

Psidium ganevii Rare guava from Castinga region in Bahia Brazil. It’s just starting to green up after changing to a red color during Winter. $12
