Old Cherimoya Trees
« on: September 24, 2023, 08:36:15 PM »
Does anyone have experience with cherimoya trees dying after a certain age? Online it says that they live 30-50 years old but have seen a lot of orchards planted in the 70s going strong without missing trees. I guess what’s the oldest grove you guys have seen?

I've not seen old trees, the oldest I've seen is a big one in El Cajon.

The literature says that the older trees are susceptible to nematodes, and the one I'm thinking of is in heavier soil which seems to prevent the nematodes from doing too well.
