ALVA star apple Top Australian selection (sold out)
« on: April 12, 2025, 12:03:15 PM »
The Star Apple Challenge, Alva Fruit quality
The Alva white star apple is superior not only for its sweet, delicious flavour, but also for being latex free - none of that unpleasant numb lips sensation after eating these beauties.
Photos: just cut open, no latex.
 Color can vary from fruit to fruit from green, light pink, Violet lines, gold, all the way to an striking pink, the flesh texture is really soft and juicy, sweet almost as condensated milk, a, delicious fruit. Another benefit of the color versus the purple ones or yellow abiu, is that birds doesn't seem to bother them much, fruit are just starting to ripen so I'll send very fresh seeds in vermiculite that probably sprout on transit
Seeds =2.5 usd
Ten or more 2 usd

Nice looking fruits!! I grew up eating green caimito and tend to prefer it over the purple one. They kinda remind me of the Vietnamese Bo Hong variety…

I bought these last year from Raul. 4/5 germinated very easily. Buying 30 this year as they all died in the cold because I was too lazy to bring them inside lol.

Is there any reason why the variety would come true to seed, or do we just keep our fingers crossed that it's similar enough?  By the way, it looks spectacular.  :)

HI John, mine was from seeds too, received them from Mike T, I guess because is a line that has been through several generations most probably will keep most of the characters of the fruit

Same. No permit and arrived healthy and sprouted. Thanks Raul!

Question, I've had Hipolito and it has less latex then others. How does Alva compare in taste and latex.
