WTB Couepia polyandra seeds
« on: December 06, 2022, 02:48:13 PM »
Does anybody here know when is the fruiting season for Couepia polyandra? I would imagine when it fruits in Florida, is about the same time it fruits in Veracruz, Mexico.

I've seen them ripe in July. There is/was an auction for a seed on ebay not sure when it ended...The seed was from south FL so I'm assuming they can fruit this late into the year.

I had them in September this year from F&S park.
Still plenty more on the tree.

I'm not that big of a fan unfortunately
Beautiful tree though.

I found them to be better if left to ripen in the fridge for a few days

Here’s a link to Austin’s auction
It’s a good fruit but has some fibers my family agreed that it smells better than it tastes. I think it tastes great though.

My main problem with it is, it's a canistel-tasting type of fruit.
I prefer my fruits to be juicy.

I do have 7 gal tree i was keeping for myself that i need to sell now.

Sorry to derail your post op

I appreciate that, I'll ask him but $20 for one seed is a little too much especially when I want to buy at least 10-15. I may just pay a visit to the fruit and spice park next year. Was also planning on visiting next year Veracruz when the fruit is in season.
