I have one gets some damage here in 9b, but outgrows it. I would suggest anything lower than 28f and it's getting burnt at the tips. Down to 25f and you're losing good chunks of it. A large and mature tree may put up with more.

Right on we do get into the teens here regularly unfortunately. I would try them out if they could handle down to around 20F. I suppose they would survive that potentially but would get fully burnt down yearly. Don't figure that'd be good for ever getting fruit.

That's like me in my 9b zone. You can definitely pull it off at high 20s, especially if it's just for an hour or two.

It's been debated for 15 years without positive ID. Most likely Inga feuilleei.
Most important is the evidence it is the most cold hardy Inga,  since many cultivars have been tried in Nor Cal and failed , while this one thrives. I guess there are a few types that are hard to differentiate from one another by flower, leaf or fruit.
