This guava variety is quite cold-hardy.

Lee-Young-Woo:

Araçá-creme (Psidium ssp. - folha larga e crassa)

It survived a humid winter with a wind chill of -7 degrees Celsius while still a sprout.
The leaves also turned red and then turned green again.
2025's humid winter it will hold up this year as well.

The plant in the photo is about 2-3 years old this year.

But I'll keep watching. Is there anyone else who grows these guavas?

nullzero:
Yes I am growing it as well, mine is a lot larger I have it in a 20 gal clay pot.

70Malibu:
Does the fruit taste any good? If not, then why would you want to grow it.

Yeah it's reported to be tastier then a lot of Psidium species. Was selected by a farmer in Brazil who grows it locally for fruit.

I think this guava variety is worth growing.
Even if, by some chance, this variety turns out to be unpalatable, I'm focusing on observing and documenting it. In Korea, there's virtually no information about this guava.

Very attractive.
