I have several different smaller mango trees I am trying to grow.
Some of them have no burn and some have issues similar to you.
I give all the mangos the exact same water and fertilizer. I have had
some issues where the leaves don't completely form. I hit my trees
with a pesticide to kill the Sri Lankan weevils and started hitting the
trees with copper fungicide and the trees with issues are responding
and having more normal growth. The trees that had issues seem to
get worse in July and August when it is the most humid.
I am not sure if I have the same issues as you. I have been giving my mangos
Diamond R 8-4-8 granular fertilizer with micros and the leaves are very
dark green. I fertilize once a month a small amount.

I am not a guru but I have had scions take over 2 months to push.
My experience is the initial push in the first week is residual energy
from the scion. It's hard not to get excited when you see it.

I received a tree but decided not to keep it. It came from budwood obtained
from Berto. It was described as a wonderful tasting but very shy producer?

How many did your tree produce this year?

I am repotting a couple 3 gallon mangos in 7 gallon pots and plan to plant them next Spring.
It's easier to protect a tree in a pot then in the ground.

My two trees are full of fruit but not ripe yet

I wonder if this is the same as the Sweet Uvaia that Kevin Jones has fruiting?

It's not the same
I have both and they are different plants
They have not fruited for me so I can't compare the fruit yet

Welcome to the forum!

I think half of the addiction is wanting something new.
How many times do I tell myself one more tree will do it
Just one more tree

you do have a great collection already!
You don't like avocados?
That is something that is not exotic but I really enjoy
eating. Longans are nice in Florida. They fruit after the lychees
and are more consistent producers. And lastly one of my favorite
fruits is a sugarlata which is a cross between sugar apple and custard apple

i planted 2 this year a little bigger then yours. They were in pots getting
more then a 1/2 day of sun and dark green and I planted out March 1st
They are definitely struggling in the full Summer sun and one has
turned a little yellow. I have volunteer papaya coming up all over my yard
so I replanted 1 or 2 on the West side of the Garcinias. The papaya are growing
fast and will soon offer afternoon shade.
I also have had one come back from the roots like Robbie from a winter freeze.
It has multiple trunks but is not growing fast and so far 1 out of 2 achachas is
coming back from last Winter's freeze. They are tough trees but damn they grow

What do you think it is?

It was sold to me as a Tim by fruitscapes.
Last year a forum member asked Fruitscapes and they said the Tims
were actually African Prides. Is it a Tim for real? I can call them and
ask them about the Tims they sold but I think there was allot of confusion
already surrounding the Tim. I appreciate the feedback!

Maybe they will know the variety.  I'd like to learn how to do grafting but I have no free time.
White sapote and loquat are suppose to be some of the easiest to graft.
There are tons of relativity really short videos on youtube on grafting

F&S Park must let legitimate people take scion wood, but I wouldn't be passed smuggling a little out from a big tree! ;)  (I'm glad this topic has had legs.)

borrowing sounds better then smuggling?

White sapote does not grow true

I don't know the Parks rules on scions?
You could buy some fruit/seeds now from CA and get your
rootstock started. By next June you will have your rootstock ready
when you sample the fruit at the Park. If it's really good then get a scion
if possible?
I hope to have Supersweet and Youghan's gold fruit next year that you could
possibly also sample. So far I only had a handful of Youghan's gold last year and
it was better to me. Also seems to be happier in the sun/humidity

It was sold to me as a Tim
