Anyone growing a Sharwil avocado in SE FL?
« on: March 05, 2023, 12:14:34 PM »
We are wondering if Sharwil would do well here.  My MIL had one in Hawaii and it was a good producer and tasted great too. It is also a bit of a sentimental thing for my husband, for the same reason we planted a Fairchild mango, which does very well in our yard.

If it is not suitable we will not look for scions (have not seen anyone selling this variety around FL).

Thanks all!

I haven't heard of anyone who's tried to grow it in Florida other than Carlos (2015), but no follow-up provided.  (Can you tell us what became of that tree, Carlos?)
