Hi Pau, a suggestion only but would you consider selling cuttings of those trees? Since the mother trees are on your lot, do you consider naming them if you were to graft them onto feijoa seedlings?
Thanks, Pau! Received my box of feijoas - they're a little bit smaller then the ones I have had before, but yours are a lot more palatable; I can eat these skin and all.
Ok, thank you for the details. The variety I ate was called Naemetz from member Nate.
Since the tree doesn't need to be large to have fruits it doesn't take much space so I may need to get one and graft a few varieties.
I looked up the relation to Guavas and feijoa again and some website says it is related...so i am not sure anymore. All i know is the fruit is delicious
They are definitely both Myrtaceae, but genetic analyses struggle with the relationships within the myrtle family, and I've seen some pretty strong critiques recently that said many of the genetic studies published over the last 20 years used questionable statistics to build phylogenetic trees that may not be accurate.
But here are two different examples from research papers in the last decade or so, to be taken with a grain of salt since they do not agree with each other at all (I've circled Psidium in green and Acca in pink on both):

I have a question for you on these fruits. I just tasted some a few weeks ago, not bad tasting.
Can you tell me if these fruits have any nutritional value that is different than other fruits like tropical guava.
Thanks.
aaronn, what varieties of Paw Paw are you growing? You must be warm inland because by paw paws are still sizing up!
I’ve got a bunch of pawpaw varieties. The 3 in the picture, from left to right are a seedling I started like 15 years ago, Allegheny, and Potomac. First year fruiting for those last two. I also have Wabash, Susquehanna, Tallahatchie, Shenandoah, Atwood, Benson, Chappell, Green River Belle, Lehman’s Delight, Maria’s Joy, Prima 1216. I’ve got a multigrafted tree with Overleese, Tropical Treat, 275-56, VE-21, Jerry’s Delight, Halvin, Halvin’s Sidewinder, plus I added a bunch more varieties to it this year and grafted several individual trees of new varieties. I’ve gone a bit overboard.
