Hi Pau, a suggestion only but would you consider selling cuttings of those trees? Since the mother trees are on your lot, do you consider naming them if you were to graft them onto feijoa seedlings?

I can sell the cuttings. Do not know when is good time to graft so I can cut on demand. Theres fruits as of now, so i can add 1/2 lb of fruits for additional  $5. Names are oval and circle for now.

Two types of guava: round and oval.

Can mix and match.
4 cuttings minimum.
$5 each
Additional $5 for 1/2 lb fruit (will include both round and oval)
Shipping Small flat rate box $8.55

Not sure of cultivar, it came with home. The smaller ones that are completely round like pingpong balls are a different type than the ovals. Both types were shipped. Which one did you like more?

Thanks, Pau! Received my box of feijoas - they're a little bit smaller then the ones I have had before, but yours are a lot more palatable; I can eat these skin and all.

Your welcome! I tried eating the skin and all before, but i mainly like eating the inside only, the clear part and the rind.

Ok, thank you for the details. The variety I ate was called Naemetz from member Nate.

Since the tree doesn't need to be large to have fruits it doesn't take much space so I may need to get one and graft a few varieties.

You should definately get one, not only for the fruits, but for the edible flower pedals. It taste like a scented rose dipped in honey. It whittles too fast, or i would share it with forum.

I looked up the relation to Guavas and feijoa again and some website says it is related...so i am not sure anymore. All i know is the fruit is delicious  ;D

They are definitely both Myrtaceae, but genetic analyses struggle with the relationships within the myrtle family, and I've seen some pretty strong critiques recently that said many of the genetic studies published over the last 20 years used questionable statistics to build phylogenetic trees that may not be accurate.

But here are two different examples from research papers in the last decade or so, to be taken with a grain of salt since they do not agree with each other at all (I've circled Psidium in green and Acca in pink on both):

Can feijoa be grafted to guava?

I have a question for you on these fruits. I just tasted some a few weeks ago, not bad tasting.

Can you tell me if these fruits have any nutritional value that is different than other fruits like tropical guava.

Thanks.

Great question, I looked it up and it seems very beneficial. My understanding from previous research is that feijoa are not in same family as guavas. So technically, they are their own fruit, I could be wrong. In regards to taste, i have tried farmers market locally and also from Hawaii and mine taste 100% better. Tree came with home when I bought, So i am not sure what variety.

Accidentally snapped my young GA 866 in half when pulling on Chayote vine. Will attempt to propagate if no buyers.

Approximately 6 cuttings  available.

Have GA 866 Jujube cutting for sale.

$10 each cutting. Shipping flat rate box $10.

I have Sugarcane and GA 866, first time both fruited it was very little. This year is the second fruit production and there is more. Sugarcane taste sweeter and more juice.

I tasted a Jujube at farmers market and I tasted a very sweet and juicy one. I asked what it was, lady told me it was GA 865. I asked 866? She said not sure, there is many GA varieties. It was oval shaped like my GA866. I attempted to crack the shells of GA "865" to find viable seeds, NONE.

How big do fruits get? Seeds soft? Sweet and acid level?

aaronn, what varieties of Paw Paw are you growing? You must be warm inland because by paw paws are still sizing up!

I’ve got a bunch of pawpaw varieties. The 3 in the picture, from left to right are a seedling I started like 15 years ago, Allegheny, and Potomac. First year fruiting for those last two. I also have Wabash, Susquehanna, Tallahatchie, Shenandoah, Atwood, Benson, Chappell, Green River Belle, Lehman’s Delight, Maria’s Joy, Prima 1216. I’ve got a multigrafted tree with Overleese, Tropical Treat, 275-56, VE-21, Jerry’s Delight, Halvin, Halvin’s Sidewinder, plus I added a bunch more varieties to it this year and grafted several individual trees of new varieties. I’ve gone a bit overboard.

Selling any? I dont mind driving to Napa to buy some pawpaw fruits.

San Diego has more tropical climate than here in Norcal i believe, chaffey would grow without issue.

I have chaffey cuttings and seedlings. Seeds might be mixed with others so cannot say for sure its chaffey.

Are you looking to get chaffey for its cold tolerance?
