I am gonna try this same thing with coffee seedlings. I put two seeds in each treepot. I will make a separate thread when the time comes!

I was inspired by Simon to generate a CSMR.
I have posted these results in the California Mango Growers Facebook group as well.

I planted a sweet tart and an orange sherbet seed in the same 5gal pot, summer of 2023. In winter of 2023, I inarched/approach grafted them together. My first attempt was too short of a graft and I broke the graft when peeling off the buddy tape. I recut the cambium and regrafted, which appears to have taken.

When the weather warms up, I plan on decapitating the sweet tart top at the graft union so that both root systems will feed the orange sherbet. It's already quite vigorous without the 2 root systems, having grown 2 ft since being planted July 2023.  The sweet tart top I will graft onto my home depot Manila.

I am also adding kent seeds to some 6 month old seedlings to do the same thing (pics not shown).

Hey Phillip,

Looking good so far. I’ve been meaning to make some more of these trees but work has been too busy. Please keep us updated on your progress with this tree!
