Variegated minneola tangelo seeds
« on: April 08, 2024, 08:18:42 AM »
Does anyone have variegated minneola tangelo seeds to share (buy) and ship them to Europe. I would like to experiment a little and see if they will grow all albino or there will be some green seedlings as well.

It doesn't necessarily be seeds, if someone have tree or cuttings they will do just fine.

They will grow all albino. I've tried many times with the same results.

No, sorry. I'm in Florida, I can't send any citrus out.

Here's my variegated blood orange. The variegated citrus seedlings will all be albino and eventually die before they get 6" tall. Laaz who use to collect all the variegated citrus varieties said the only variegated citrus seedling that did not die is the variegated sour orange. I don't have that one since I really did not care to eat a sour orange.

I also have a variegated macrophylla that was grafted, and it looks good with the variegated leaves, but one of the other grafted scions turned albino and it has leaves and is growing now for about 5 months, I hope it doesn't die on me. I have a albino lemon grafted that has been growing well for years and it give albino fruits (all yellow from start to finish when it is ripe).

Can't catch a brake  ::).. the only reason I'm asking for seeds or cuttings is because this citrus is only available in the US and one would need an export permit to send it to Europe.
