« on: October 24, 2022, 12:04:57 PM »

Flavor is excellent! It really is different for annonas. Tastes of banana, apple, pineapple, melon..seems to have a slight scent of glabra too. Ive been told there are variations. Im growing another one called 'Porto Bello' thats supposed to have a white flesh and is creamier.
That's awesome. Thanks for sharing :D
I love creamy tasting annona. Porto bello sound interesting

There are few things as frustrating as going out to check on you planted seeds and finding them chews or removed. I built some frames with spare material to protect them. The other night I planted a tray and failed to protect them and every single one was gone in the morning. One night was all it took and the local mice had a feast. These are the frames I built.

I agree. It is absolutely frustrating and infuriating at the same time. Thanks for showing me your idea. It's perfect. Now I know what people meant by crates!

I have custard apple grown from seeds. Almost two years old. It was doing great in 3 gallons pot under my banana trees protection

Almost two weeks ago, I repoted into 15 gallons and no longer staying under the banana trees. It is now in full sun. A few days ago, my area been hit by frost two nights in a row. and I used frost cloths to protect it of course. But then I start seeing the leafs turning black and falling off as I touch it. Idk if this is normal since it is approaching winter. Or is it being sun burn since I moved it into full sun. Or it is frost damage. It didn't lose any leaf last year when it stayed under the bananas.

Long story short, Idk if my tree is dying or is it doing normal winter shedding. Should I moved it out of the sun or no?

Here's another one I cut for the first time today.  J12 seedling.  I'll try the J12 and providence once they soften up and let you know if they are any good.  This J12 seed tree grew super fast and the fruit are a decent size.

Wow, great size. I never heard of J12. Can't wait for update on taste and seed size

Where do you get legit Maprang or Mayong chid seeds or tree then?
Do you mind sharing who it is or the store name? Thanks

I got mine from an etsy seller, and possibly also from a seller here on this forum.  Mine are definitely maprang seedlings

Beautiful trees. Hope they find good home in no time. And best of luck to your upcoming event in life

Great seller! Plants arrived in good shape. Packaging was tight and effective. I also received free guava seeds and candies! Lol

He also refund the shipping cost since he was able to do it cheaper than estimate. I would recommend Benjamin to any one.

I'm very happy with my purchase. Looking forward to see them all grow :D

Many Thai mango are eaten green or dip in salt with chili or other sauces. There are Keow Savoy, Falan(my personal favorite for eaten crunchy), Mun Khun Sri, Pim san Mun, Nhong Sang,.. These are the ones I could think of for now.

Do you guys have chipmunks down there?
I haven't seen that many chipmunk, squirrels, or racoon since I moved to this housing area. Never seen rats either(doesn't mean there ain't any). But there are lots of birds. My guess a squirrel or something must have spot my back yard recently and investigate by destroying my seedlings. Haha

I had similar story but from a different nursery. It look just like this but sold to me as ice cream banana. I found out after I planted it that blue java doesn't have any wine splash.

I'm still not sure what I have but it is probably dwarf Cavendish like you said

I would guess Kiew yai? It look like one. Kiew yai mean big green. It can be eaten crunchy or ripe. Crazy expensive for that price tho.

The heart shape pattern on the middle of the leaf is really cool.

Maybe not enough water? It's hard to tell. Is it cold right now? Maybe that spot doesn't get enough heat and sun light?
Other members may know more than I do

I'm kinda new to seeds germination. I've been growing my seeds outside since September and ever thing seems fine until today. My seeds had been chewed on, some are dug up, and some are totally missing :(

All of the Eugenia seeds I gotten for free from Richard in this forum are all gone too. Who could have ate! They're just seeds with no flesh.

I'm very upset and now that I know I need to make a set up for seeds germination inside. But Idk where to start. ):

As you can see, something chew these. They're peanut butter fruit seeds

What left of my Eugenia seeds. All the other ones are completely missing from the cup

I think you should describes the taste, firm flesh, jelly flesh, color, more cold or less cold sensitive, where the variety come from etc. of each varieties you have. I think it help sell to people who know nothing about dragon fruits. Like me of course lol.

Look at other biding store in this forum, they describe things that I don't know I want lol. That's just my opinion any way. Wish you the best of luck
