Ross Sapote grafted to Chico Sapote?
« on: March 16, 2020, 10:04:14 PM »
Has anyone had success grafting the Ross to the Chico? I have plenty of Chico seedlings but would rather have Ross. I know Canistel would accept Ross.

Thanks

Chico sapote commonly refers to Manilkara zapota. Ross Sapote is Pouteria sp. and visually similar to canistel, Pouteria campechiana. The plants and fruits of the chico sapote and ross sapote appear unrelated. I have never tried grafting them but my guess is that they are incompatible.
