Title: Detailed French video showing great collection of Cold Hardy Citrus
Post by: kumin on February 05, 2022, 10:35:46 AM
This is a hour long video showcasing a very large collection of cold hardy Citrus. Unfortunately, it's in French, the French subtitles assist in comprehension, but there are some errors in the captioning. I have abysmal comprehension of spoken French, a bit better with written French.

Selecting English subtitles gives a rough approximation of the content.
I'd be interested in seeing accurate English subtitles for this video.

This video serves as an introduction to a recently published book (in French).

The author hints at a possible English version of the book on a European site. It may be dependent upon the success of the French version.

I have had contact with the author through facebook and he is a very friendly and helpful guy.
I also bought the book. If you know your coldhardy citruses and read the forums, there is not an awful lot to learn but it is a well-made book and certainly the best one exclusively about coldhardy citrus that is currently available.

Both the English and French subtitles leave a bit to be desired. Can't interpret Satsuma correctly in French and the French use the word "rustique" to denote "hardiness", "rustic" doesn't equate hardiness in English.

Florin, I agree with you this book is great for an amateur, but doesn't really reach deep enough to keep an advanced enthusiast, or breeder's interest.
