After having relatively poor success sprouting these exotic imported seeds, I am happy to see you are doing this successfully and making them available as live plants

There is certainly value in buying a living plant. I've spent hundreds of dollars on seeds that didn't make it. If you really want a rare plant, this is a safer way to do it.

I have spent so much money and had such poor luck with rare Annona seeds (not the standard sugar apple, cherimoya, etc.) that I do not even think about buying those seeds anymore. I have better luck with Myrtaceae species, but even so, at least there are growers out there with better seed germinating skills than I.

Hey guys thanks for the comments! I wouldn’t put the blame on the failed seeds on yourself. You can follow the correct techniques all day and still not have success. There are so many factors. One thing that helps me, is that I buy in bulk. So if there is only a 30% germination rate. I’ll still get several plants. Whereas if I sold 1 seed to 10 people only 3 are going to get a plant. Seeds are still a cheaper option for the collector, in most cases. I just don’t want people getting down on themselves for not being able to get every single seed to grow. I and every other seller have killed thousands. We just buy and plant in bulk to insure we have that specie available as a plant for the market.

Kameron is right don’t put the blame on yourself. Most Myrtaceae seeds in my experience has high germination rates as long as they are cleaned and stored correctly. I still prefer to buy, especially if in small amounts, seeds already germinated with just a little radicle root growing out. That is close to a guarantee of having a seedling. When I get some in not germinated I prefer to keep them in the plastic ziplock bag with barely damp vermiculite at a proper temp until they do. Less chance of seed getting mold or fungus and less time and space wasted planting them in a pot for them to possibly not sprout. As to planting I prefer straight peat moss and 25-50% perlite depending on the species. Typically the low end of perlite with  Plinia in the middle range with most  Eugenia and 50% for Cerrado species or ones native to sandy areas like the Restinga. I was having trouble growing a Cerrado species of Campomanesia in Promix HP which is around 30% perlite, talked to Kameron on how he can grows them so well, replanted using straight peat moss 50 % perlite and most of them are doing much better now.

i can testify that from what i've bought a lot of seeds from you like not sure if 15-20 or something like that or more...from all of them i got let's say 19 out of 20 germinated. the quality is real good, now i plant them as soon as i get them!! no matter what..but can also testify for farwell farms and all the other forum members i've bought eugenias from.

in vases like a reused soda vase from taco bell or recycled juice boxes and water bottles cut to like 1/5 or 1/4 and then with those free magazines or newspapers taped on the sides so it's not transparent plus a few of those regular small pots for germination doesn't matter where...

i'm using a store bought potting mix like a really large bag i have stored in my room..it's really big and heavy so i have this mix ready available for the expensive seeds bought from the internet :)

sunshine mix 4
professional growing mix from sungro

https://gotg.ca/products/sungro-sunshine-mix-4-107l

that one not sure where you can get it but that works for me...

i'm always using DRINKING WATER OR RAIN WATER with a drop or two of honey...if i can't get a hold of that then i will use city water with honey but i try to avoid it because eugenias and jabos are not very fond of that. well eugenias can tolerate it more but not jabos.

then the other thing is climate that tropical climate helps me with the eugenias and also you need a lot of patience.
some of these seeds germinated right away...some others took 5-7 months and some others appearead to be dead or dry then another branch comes right out the soil.

for the guys that buy annonas i feel you...spent like 500 bucks last year in annonas and only got like 5-6 out of 20 species and one died already xD

I have also noticed this... sometimes germinated seeds whose shoot has clearly died will put out a new shoot some time after.  Tropical fruit seeds tend to be so large it doesn't shock me that they have some excess energy to try again.   Glad to see it happen

yeah, eugenias and jabos seem to be doing this the most even to a funny degree that they have trouble making new leaves many times and will prefer a new shoot instead. sometimes when leaves dry out because of sunburn we better pray the seedling has enough energy to make a new shoot or "game over".

also have you seen some type of abnormality they have that a single shoot will try to branch out a lot trying to make another branch or leaf but instead they put a lot of them in a loop until eventually one grows or the whole thing dies then another shoot will come up that is "normal" xD
