Thanks for the replies and info everyone!

Definitely gotta check you out one day Berto! Appreciate the past hookups, salzmannii from your seeds is doing well.

What season does lakoocha flower and fruit for you?

I am glad your salzmannii are doing well. They are sloooooow the first few years.
Lacucha main crop is in June.

Nice Berto!
My gosh your garden must be truly amazing!

Yes, it is amazing. I have some interesting rare fruits in production.

Lakoocha is a great word to substitute on many a southern rock anthem.
Haven’t heard of anyone fruiting this in Florida yet but probably.

I have 2 large fruiting trees in Fort Myers, Florida. They taste like tangerine. Very delicious fruits.
I have seedlings in 1 gallon and 3 gallon pots, local pick up only. PM if interested.

The property was sold this year for over 1 million dollars.
Thank you for letting me share  this opportunity here in the forum.

Abiu is fruiting in SW Florida.  This year’s crop is light due to Winter’s cold days. Please send me a private message and I may have some seeds of a fantastic variety.

Extra fresh Annona montana originated in the Amazon area. Excellent rootstock for rare annonas including Annona salzmannii; Annona scleroderma; Annona muricata; Annona diversifolia….
Fruits are huge and the flesh tastes like soapy water. This Annona is for rootstock, specially for cold climate areas. I am not sure how cold it could stand. However, here in Fort Myers, it keeps growing all winter without any issues. I am in zone 10 b, I believe.
Seedlings will fruit in approximately 4 to 5 years from seed.
Seeds are $2 each, plus $ 10 for shipping and handling. Seeds will be  mailed from the main post office in Fort Myers. Minimum is 5 seeds. Private message if interested. Thanks.
Sorry, no international shipping at this time.

No. Trees are not male or female. They produce perfect flowers with male and female parts, but are self-incompatible. Therefore, it is needed at least two (2) trees for good fruit production.
Genipa americana known as “jenipapo” is very tropical and cold sensitive. My trees died back few years ago when we had a cold winter in SW Florida. I would recommend it for zone 10 and above.

Your prayers were answered! 🤭
I have some large trees in Fort Myers, Florida.
They are getting close to flowering. Let’s talk privately.

I have seedling for sale. Local pickup only in Fort Myers, Florida.

These seeds are super fresh, I bought them from Berto based on Mike's assessments. Two weeks in a ziploc and on a heat mat, the seeds are already starting to open up. I should see the tip of the roots in about 3 days from now and that's when they go to a seedling pot.

Thanks again, Berto, for sharing this variety.
Thera,
You are welcome!
The seeds are extra fresh and hand selected. I only sell the best and the biggest ones.
Seeds germinate quickly. I tell people they will germinate in 30 to 90 days. I guess a lot of people are going to be pleasantly surprised! 😉😎
On the other hand, seedlings grow extremely slooooooooow.

Thank you Berto.

Arrived yesterday, everything packaged nicely.

Much appreciate the extras!

You are welcome!
Have fun with them.

Got our seeds, thank you so much Berto!
You are welcome!
Have fun with them. Just send me a private message if you have any question.

Received my seeds quickly and they look great! Berto is a top notch seller and I always have great success with anything I purchase from him!
Thanks! I appreciate your feedback. I treat people the way I like to be treated.

I was lucky enough to taste this yesterday, it is delicious. Unlike any other annona I have had.

I am glad you could stop by and taste this fantastic fruit. 👍🏽👏🏽

I just received the seeds. Arrived in perfection condition, thanks for the quite generous extra seeds =D
You are welcome!
I am glad they arrived in great shape! Please help me spread this fantastic fruit.
Thanks.

My fruiting salzmannii tree was grafted on 04/14/2012 onto an Annona glabra rootstock.
I ate the first fruit on 08/29/2018
So it took 6 years to fruit from grafting.
The tree has been topped twice. The first time, it was three years ago, prior to the arrival of hurricane Irma when  I cut the tree and it stayed at seven feet tall.
This year,  I topped the tree again and currently it stands approximately 16 to 18 feet tall which is more or less 6 meters tall and 4 meters wide.
I noticed that the fruits are getting bigger as the tree matures.
Today, I had the pleasure of hosting Steve Cucura and his wife to taste the fruit. Both of them were really impressed with salzmannii’s flavor. They said that the fruit tastes like a pineapple. Steve Cucura is the owner of Fruitscapes, a nursery and fruit stand located in Bokeelia, Pine Island, Florida.

I believe that many people will be able to fruit Annona salzmannii.
I am getting plenty of fruits here in Fort Myers, Florida. The biggest one was close to 1.5 lbs.

No special treatment at all. They will germinate in 30 to 90 days.
Seeds were hand selected and most likely they will germinate very fast.
Seedlings grow extremely slooooow the first few years. In those years, the tree grows a deep taproot. That’s the reason why I would recommend growing them in 18 inches tall pots. I have 2 years old seedling with 4 pairs or leaves. Whoever wants to grow Annona salzmannii has to be very patient. The long term reward is worth the wait, I believe! 😋😎

Thanks!

By the way, which Annona is this one from your post? This is not Annona salzmannii, for sure.

It's Erdon Lee lychee. The image is actually part of his forum signature, so he did not mean it to be relevant to this thread.

By the way, is Beach araticum's outer shell tough enough to avoid fruit flies laying eggs?
I would say yes. The shell is pretty hard and thick. I have plenty of fruit flies here in my property, and I have not experienced any fruit fly problem. The last two years I did not bag the fruits. This year I bagged them because the crows were eating them when they were small in size.

24
Yes indeed. My tree is from seeds of that variety found in Recife by Antonio Morschbacker.
Recently, I found another one in Sergipe that is also excellent. Salzmannii will survive!

Sent you a pm.

I replied to your message.
