Guava is intensely sweet and guava-y.
It's not my cup if tea but I know some who but it up there.
Maya is a classic flavor mango, been on my want to try list.
I have aromanis, which is supposed to be the same as harumanis, it's Indochinese in flavor but not super flavorful
The last time I saw Brad’s trees, I was surprised at how well they were growing. I can’t seem to get mine kick started and I live in a similar climate. I have killed a ton of seedlings and had no luck with air layers. I’m probably planting them when they’re too small even though I have them under shade cloth. Or fertilizing them wrong. Whatever, I’m going to keep trying because I want raw fingers from peeling so many Brewster lychees.
Lychees have to be one of the most beautiful trees when full of ripe fruit. Nice haul Spaugh!
I tried store bought varieties Mexican seeds but they were never happy. Is Brewster supposed to be the most high pH tolerant rootstock?
but Goa Mankur mango and Maya from Israel have very good taste. I purchased Goa mankur and Maya graft from them and planted near my house.
I've had a "Gold Nugget" growing very big in the ground here in Chula Vista. The only problem is we are too cold all winter for the fruit to size up and ripen properly. The fruit get about football size, but then soften up in spring and drop without fully ripening. There are other places where some varieties do fine in the County. I'm looking for a variety that doesn't need to get very big to ripen properly.
I know this answer is a bit late, but I just wanted to chime in. I'm new on this forum, but I'm excited to share my experience with moving to a new place. When I moved, I usually made a list of what furniture I'd need and sold the rest. It helped me cut down on clutter and save some money.
Wow, mangoba, I like the color (shades) on your citrus, is that an orange or mandarin? What variety is it?
Is that a conjoed twin melons? I had the fingered sumo which had 11 separate parts/fruit envelopes and should have been a world size record, but the Guinness World Records never got back to me.
but do overlook commonly planted ones like Cot-n-candy.
I'll let you know in a few more years. My pomelo seedling tree took 7 yrs to fruit, but it was worth the wait, excellent tasting fruit.

Hi all! I'm a new gardener in SoCal in zone 10A. I've been looking for a plum tree, but am getting some mixed info online and from local nurseries. I was going to try for a Santa Rosa, but am now hearing that they may not be as low chill as previously thought, and have been unreliable producers. Does anyone have varieties that can live with very low chill hours, and has a juicy texture? Texture is honestly more important than taste for me with plums, if I'm not needing to eat it over a sink I don't want it haha
