I got some giant mulchi seeds from tradewindfruit, they didn't seem in great condition, Like they were about to split in half, not rot..

Farewell Fruit has some regular mulchi seeds available now.. not cheap

That batch had wasnt viable. Has anyone gotten a sprout off the 2nd batch order?

Turns out the shelf life is very short for Giant Mulchi seeds. The seeds I planted immediately all sprouted, I shelved 15 seeds and tried to plant them 2 months later but they were all rotten on the inside.

Some wild trilobas are barely worth eating. And i have heard they are the best tasting ones. Other species not very palatable and extremely small and seedy. Has anyone actually eaten one other than triloba?

As some have said, the plant will grow vegetation. But proper chill hours for bloom and fruit set may not occur. The person in California may be in a valley and/or has a longer winter. I have heard there are some folks attempting to hybridize triloba with reticulata or one of the florida species to get better fruits down there. But dont believe they are ready for production. There are some pawpaw groups on facebook with extremely dedicated members

End of July is starting to be too late IMO. A lot of varieties ripen Late june - Early July. I plan on going in early July again this year. Last year I put 50lbs in a duffel bag and wrapped some clothes around them. Also the end of May is Lychee season for anyone wondering.

Sorry to hear that.
99% of the seeds i send are collected in the wild and seed boring insect risk can happens even if it is relatively rare.
When such a thing happens, do not hesitate to contact me and let me know as soon as you receive the seeds.

Nice looking species.. I regret to inform you that the Pouteria Guianensis seeds I got from you were all unviable due to a seed boring insect. Just an FYI for anyone else who ordered these, might be worth checking your pots or seeds.

honestly flat rates are a rip off anyway. You are paying like $4.00-6.00 for the box. As someone said if you use a website like pirate ship/go shippo and enter your own box sizes, you can send boxes that are identical size or smaller to the flat rates for far cheaper.

For example. A medium size box would cost me around $10.00 with a plain brown box from amazon versus the $15.00 for the flat rate. This rate is called "priority cubic" is only available online through websites like pirate ship

As digigarden mentioned these require heavy shade for their early lives and fruit at ages around 8-10 years. It is unclear exactly what they can take temperature wise, but 45F degree temps will damage it

3-14-2022 Update

Thanks for all your help everyone. There should be a whole bunch of new Mulchi trees out there soon. I shipped out almost everyone's order today. There are still a few unpaid invoices but we are currently sold out. We are finding out if another batch of seeds are available. I will let everyone know if we secure another batch

Gibberellin are unstable in the soil and moderately persistent in the water, quickly decomposed in the air and are safe for bees and useful entomofauna, soil organisms, birds. They are not toxic for aquatic organisms, do not accumulate in plants and the environment.

Hope that helps! It's the cloning gel you have to watch out for. Getting it on your skin can cause hormonal issues and even cause impotence

You gotta try the Neptune's Harvest seaweed/fish product I recommended you bro! I got a bunch of annonas and other seeds germinating really quick this last month from it
