Hey Splork,
dont know where you are in seattle, but if you go north "Blueberry Creek Reserve" on google, is a hidden U-pick for blueberries, an honor system one, you just leave money and walk down to their field, easy to miss since its just a little trail off the road.
Mercer Slough Blueberry Farm in Bellevue is also a great u-pick I used to go to a lot.
If you are looking for Salmonberries I remember finding a huge patch by Scriber lake park.
If you want to go super odd there are a bunch of Arbutus unedo (Strawberry Tree) along Don Armeni park along the waterfront in Alki or I also remember a bunch by UW I think along campus parkway and by UW Center for Urban Horticulture. Too gritty for me, but always a fun one to try.
Theres a bunch of Medlars planted by Swedish Hospital (they are pretty when its blooming) on First Hill.
For something a bit more organized there are several public orchards taken care of by the city and volunteers that are pretty fun to try and find in fall.

I'm on the fence because the both have similar pictures, no data on how big they get or if they are diecious. Don't want to have only 1 grow to end up not self fertile. But we'll see from other peoples experiences!

I would say I'm very aware of my size constraints and general greenhouse limitations but my dreams if I had the right conditions are
passiflora macrophylla (cant find anywhere)
Wilughbia Sarawakensis (killed one already, they are very fickle)
Salacca Zalacca var. "Bali Salak Gula Pasir"  (too big for current greenhouse, and cant do dioecious either)
Herrania umbratica (killed one)
Stelechocarpus burahol (Kepel - too big)

GreenAnoleFarms on etsy sells a fairly established plant for a good price.
Never bought from them but I have been eyeing it for a while.

Great to hear it flowers quickly. Ive had mine for a little under a year, and its grow grow grow but no flowers yet. I have it out of the greenhouse so we are dipping into the 40s at night, so I might need to move it back inside again. I should shape mine like a little tree too.

Ive spent over 4000 easy but since mostly just a hobby -obsession to try all the different fruit and zone push I dont ever plan on breaking even. Usually if I'm trying to offload plants I just want people to cover the cost of shipping. Growing tropical fruit in washington is nothing but folly (but still enjoying every minute)

I have one growing in my greenhouse in vancouver wa for a little over a year. It likes partial shade a lot it seems. huge leaves. I left it in the greenhouse all summer since it seemed happy there.

Here are 3 of the trees. They are in tiny pots. The other picture is of my big plant (which I up-potted) and it immediately grew. Would say these will take off once given some more dirt.
Theres not much information about them, really I was hoping to get them to fruit, but I dont know if they are self fertile, or if they need fertilization some how.
Theres some good information here : https://pza.sanbi.org/tabernaemontana-elegans
 - https://cjmgrowers.co.za/tabernaemontana-elegans/

Also the reports of how to fruit taste are mixed. This site says they are delicious - https://www.rayon-de-serre.com/their-fruit/368-tabernaemontana-elegans.html
But they are the only ones

Hi All,
Testing the water to see if anyone would be interested.
I have 5 Toad Trees I grew from seed, and I only needed 1. Would anyone be interested in purchasing one? They are ~2ft tall and all need to be up-potted. Some are already flowering and are healthy.
I don't know shipping cost, but I'd assume ~30$, due to the size. I can post some pictures if anyone is interested. Was growing them to try the fruit, but no fruit set yet. I am unsure if they are self fertile, or its just because this is the first year they have flowered.
Let me know if anyone wants to purchase .

Any left? Would love a box.

Hi Nullzero, (or anyone else on this tread)
If you ever find yourself with an extra rooted cutting, I'd love to pick one up from you. I overwatered mine this winter and it died. :(

Awesome place! Dream fruit set up

Amazing! How big is your tree? I was thinking about getting a sweet tamarind, but I can only grow things in pots under 8ft.

congrats on graduating!

What a lovely greenhouse! Love that you have that all of that over in Idaho! All the love for the PNW growers! (and everyone else) I love the birds and the African peach. Mine just died this winter, so I ordered a bunch of seeds. Has yours flowered yet? I should make a video of my little greenhouse too. These videos make we want to buy a plot of land just for a giant greenhouse!

20
Thats a lovely greenhouse! I wish I had space to put things in ground. ;) Everything gets a pot here.

Hi palologrower, I dont trust shipping seeds right now to WA (we're supposed to get 3inches of snow this weekend) but if you manage to grow one of the seeds out, I would happily buy one off you once the weather warms up.

22
ah jeez just pure outside warhead. I'll try making some jelly or ice cream and maybe we'll arrive at a sweet use for them.

23
do you like the taste? what do you do with the fruit? I have one from FFF that just started fruiting.

Carolyn do you have 2 trees? Do you hand cross pollenate? I really want to get cacao in my greenhouse but dont know if I'd have space for 2.

25
I have one I picked up from sowexotic (where it is marked self-fertile) Hopefully, they are, otherwise I'll ask for some bud wood from whoever has the opposite gender of my tree! It has been incredibly slow growing for me up here. Curious to see if it'll hit the 4 year seed to fruit mark they mentioned.
