Fukushu = Changshou  is correct.  My area is so humid I get  mold on my car body by early spring.  If your tree is grafted to phytophera resistant rootstock it will be no problem.

Meiwa  and nagami are very hard to grow.  Fukushu kumquats grow much better.

According to oscar tintori the Fukushu is unsuited to humid areas because susceptible to phytophera.
So also not good for my region.
I certainly hope not..  My healthiest trees are all Fukushu kumquats

Thanks Brian.  The handles make is so easy to transport.  I wish i could get 15 gallon buckets like these 5's.  It took me 5 minutes to get  the 12 gallon  fukushu kumquat/FD up 8 ladder feet.

Pressure cooker.  A 5 gallon bucket would be crushed long before the required vacuum would be reached.  Atmosphere is 14 psi at 1200 feet elevation.  Your pump will need to bring that down to 1 PSI

with a vacuum pump you can boil the mandarin juice at 100F with out damaging the fresh flavor but you will have to freeze the concentrate to save it.

Your trees look good.  I have been using shorter container to.  Mine are not that short.  They are 55 gallon drums cut in half.  That makes for greater diameter  than depth but not shallow like yours.

I have found that bags of XX-XX-XX do not have trace elements

I transplanted a Fukushu kumquat tree outside from a 30 gallon container.

We dropped to 3F this year and average below 0-F 10nout of 30 years.  Those 10 years often have multiple night below 0-f

Seville sour promotes extra sweetness needed to sweeten the pulp of the Fukushu.  I am going to try Flying dragon for my New Zealand lemonade and valentine pomelo.

Yes.  I used the Poncirus to serve as an inter-stock to bridge between incompatible sour orange and kumquat scion.  My previous direct graft of kumquat to sour orange all died quite quickly.

Check out the 2 Trilobites on each side of the grafted scion.
