Very interesting! I don't know how to help you. If you graft it or inarch roots I'm guessing the albino part would just die off once the seed energy depletes. Good luck!

I don't have either one of those but I was curious if you ever came across 'Benque' in your search.

I wanna see!   ;D

I like T. bicolor and T. grandiflorum. Cacao has small amounts of tasty flesh around the seeds but if you are using the chocolate seed you normally just ferment the tasty pulp.

I thought T. angustafolium tasted like a mix of green apple and cucumber. I liked it and ate a bunch but not as good as the others.

I would plant cupuacu over cacao if you aren't using the cacao seeds.

I just had this tree identified recently and looked through most of what I could easily find on the internet about it. It seems to be pretty common in Vietnam and Thailand. Does anyone have any growing experiences with this? Is it monoecious? Taste reports?

I like the perforated better but it isn't a big deal either way. I find myself with waste with either roll.

Thanks Behl! I just paypal payment. Great seller.

Durian, chempedak, marang/tarap, dabai, soursop, custard apple/atemoya. Strawberry guava is junk. Graft the avocados when you can.

Might be too warm for lychee. Do they flower near you? Pulasan is better than rambutan but less productive.

Get more abiu and plant next to each other for cross pollination.

Fruit Forest Farm should have a ton of top tier fruits. How far are you from them?

Hey Josh,

Glad to hear that you were able to successfully graft chemp onto jack, as jack rootstock so plentiful now that even Publix is stocking them. Wanted to share some pics of the seedlings Iím growing, purchased these seeds from maryoto (if I remember correctly) from Borneo and the chempedak is definitely the hairy one, meanwhile this other one is like jack x chemp cross and has leaf characteristics like chemp but the non hairyness of jack.

Here is a reference you might be interested is as well, seems there is some variation amongst samples the authors identified based on interbreeding with wild chempedak (bangkong).

That looks pretty good! Maybe you can add a jack rootstock to the one on the right and get it to perk up. I have killed so so many chempedak seedlings. Are you going to plant them out in yard?

I found this as well looking for the wild silvestris info.

"However, bangkong is very difficult to differentiate from cempedak when not in fruit. Morphological differences between cempedak and bangkong reportedly include variation in pubescence, color of withering leaves, size of male inflorescences, size of fruits, and most notably the lack of fragrance and insipid taste of the bangkong fruit (Corner, 1938; Kochummen, 1978). In contrast with the cultivated cempedak, bangkong fruit is harvested only for its seeds, typically by the Orang Asli, the indigenous peoples of Peninsular Malaysia. Bangkong seeds take longer to cook, but their fluffy texture is favored more than the sticky texture of cempedak seeds"

I wonder if the Durian Chempedak is a cross with var Silvestris. It looks different and has a more mild creamy taste. They also seemed to be easier to grow even though I killed them.

This is 100% A. integer on jackfruit roots growing in Florida. The pubescence and fragility give it away. I am trying to get these growing big enough to get some more grafts done and hopefully make some crosses. It is growing under an Amber seedling of a seedling so that would be a good place to start for sure. There is also a seedling of Murahilin's high quality Berry seedling growing underneath to graft into the canopy.

The other Rob from Excalibur (not bsbullie) said the Boca Chempedek was easy peel and soft flesh. I am guessing it is a sloppy jack or maybe a hybrid, definitely not 100% integer. Hopefully there will be a taste report soon. They should be getting to fruiting size.

Rob, do you know anyone that has Coconutís Champedek or Jakfruitís fruiting? Would love to try some seedís of those and his humorous postís no longer grace the forum.

Jonah, I have a seedling of Coconut's Boca Snob jackfruit here. I'll let you know when it fruits. Maybe next year. I just gave it a ton of love and retrained it's canopy two days ago since it is on trellis and strangely multigrafted and somewhat neglected. I will try to push it hard this year.

Jaboticaba Plinia phitrantha (Otto Andersen) 'Branca Vinho' scions. Sizes will be similar to photo below. I have had lots of requests for these. Definitely compatible with Sabara and probably a ton of other Plinia rootstock.

$7 each. Minimum 2. Shipping is $4 in a padded mailer with tracking. I will harvest and ship on Monday. USA only. Scions will be unwrapped in a ziplock bag.

PM me for my paypal. I'll get to my messages tonight/tomorrow. Thanks for looking.

I get this happening on mine but I attributed it to cold weather and possibly exposure from over pruning. I am zone pushing here and growing them out of the the way into an overstory so I over prune the fronds. Does it happen during the warm seasons?

Consider espalier on the south side of your house. If you are going to put in the effort of cold protection get some heavy frost cloth and some heat source inside when it is needed. I have breadfruit and Durio species in the ground here. You can do anything if you put the work in.

Interested as well, if you still have seeds.
Do you have anymore seeds available?

Still have seeds. DM me and I can get them out ASAP.
