Thanks! They are pretty monstrous at this point CeeJey. In ground over a year and have been flowering since last spring, just now setting fruit. The vines are draping over a jatropha tree that is about 8 - 10 feet tall, and wider than that. I would guess 16 - 20 feet each, or more total length.

Think this is solanum pachyandrum. Just noticed fruits. Have at least 2 vines growing together, and did some hand pollination.

I've got confirmed bloom on Banganpalli, Jehangir, Kesar, Jumbo Kesar, Julie, Dot, East Indian, Janardhan Pasand, USDA Himsagar, Neelam, Mahmood Vikarabad, #11, and Alumpur Baneshan. I'm spraying the heck out of them this year cuz I'm tired of losing fruit to powdery mildew attacks. Waiting for bloom on Borsha, Malda, Sindhri, Manohar, Sonpari, Panchadarakalasa, Dashiri and Royal Special.

Add Sweet Tart to the blooming trees in our yard, along with Glenn, Sugar Loaf, Ceci Love, and Sein Ta Lone (Guava). Hard to say bc buds are tiny, but Mmmmmm4 may be joining the fruiting crew as well.

Grew this maprang from seed. Do not recall where it came from. Does anyone have an idea if this could be the sweet or the sweet and sour variety, or other? The leaves put off a citrus mango smell when crushed, similar to LZ and OS.

Here are some pretty ripe fruits. They can get a little lighter than this, then start to get darker colors again and the flavor starts to change/turn.
...also, when you pick one, note the taste and color. They should be a little sweet. If they are totally bland, too early. If they are mildly sweet, crispy, and refreshing, they are ripe. If they are pretty sweet with more complex flavors, they are overripe.

Not yet. They will turn light yellow, almost white when ripe. If they start to turn yellowi-orangish, they've gone too far (although some may like funky overripe jujubes).

Another thought is, if you spray (or not), the tree will drop what it can't handle and you can always cull to make the crop lighter. So the real experts might favor spraying so you have the healthiest blooms possible and more options going forward.

I agree with seeing how your trees do naturally without spray. A lot of trouble to goto for something you may not need or want. Depends a lot on weather too, so can see how spraying might be a good insurance policy. ....shit, I don't know what to do either.
You may also want to think about what your goal is; do you want as much fruit as possible, or do you want moderate amounts of the tastiest fruit possible? Not sure about this, but seems some of the best mangoes I've had were from trees that produced moderate to light crops that year.

Thank you Bill. Please don't feel bad about my trees. USPS dropped the ball, and I know how this thing can go. You have been tremendously kind and generous with your time and effort, and sacrificed sleep and chill time to help more people out. I have nothing but gratitude for you and all those who assisted.
I may be hitting people up for budwood in the near future, so anyone who has anything other than Biqi/BC, please contact me if you can sell scions. Got some good rootstock already.
