Baccauera, varieties of good taste?
« on: August 25, 2016, 07:59:32 PM »
Hello Guys, today I was talking to my friend Ricbitar, and our subject were baccaureas good taste, I have baccaurea racemosa and baccaurea ramiflora, these species grow well on my farm in southeastern Brazil, I want to make a commercial plantation of these fruits.
Here I have trees to 2 years and 3 m high.
There are varieties taste better than these two?
We can engraft baccaureas?
Does anyone have seeds to trade?
Generally exotic species are more interesting, Brazil has many native fruits, but people sometimes prefer the news is baccaureas are new here!
Thanks!

Baccaurea macrocarpa and angulata are better fruits but my favourite is Baccaurea polyneura (syn.Baccaurea hookeri). Unfortunetely they don't grow well here in Reunion Island?

Thank you,

I'll try to buy seeds of these species.
They are hard seeds to get to Brazil.

You can get Baccaurea seeds from the Indonesian sellers in forum. They have at least 3~4 species during the season.
My recommendation among them is Maryoto. You could probably be satisfied with his packing.
