Lucuma cv Prada
« on: March 17, 2017, 06:42:18 PM »
I just bought a tree of Lucuma cultivar Prada.
I can't find any info on this variety. Anybody has it? Is it a dry or moist variety?

Thanks

http://www.torrevivai.com/

Torre Nursery in Italy. The tree is already grafted and quite tall, probably 170 cm.
I think it comes from Viveros Blanco a producer from Spain, the only website that mention this CV, but they don't reply my emails.

I had the same problem I never got an answer to my emails. A friend of mine visited the nursery last month and told me that the owner is an old man and he is suspicious to visitors  ::)
Lucky. You can buy such trees localy. What else do they sell? Do they send trees outside of Italy?

Not that lucky, since I don't live near them and had to get them shipped for 25 eur, which is high cost for shipment here, normally I pay 10-15 eur. But the plants were very nice and developed.
They have many tropicals, here is the full list:

I think they sell abroad, but the shipment may kill you :D

The nursery where I bought it said it does make dry fruits, but they also said they don't know the moist variety.
They sell also Molina 4 which it seem to be moist variety so it could be that they think it's dry...
Honestly looking at the pictures online I can't see the difference in them, maybe it's not so evident or the pictures were all a middle way between dry and moist...
