I have another ripe fruit (fruit fell in the bag) of the Maddox yellow sapote seedling.

The Casimiroa tetrameria#7 is still turning yellow and getting bigger, not ready to pick yet. I can tell from the weight it is still not ready. This one may be the largest white sapote fruit for me.

Here's a photo of the fruit today, yellow on the outside, getting heavier now.

Pau, you fruits with spikes are very interesting. I have never seen any white sapote with that either. Please report back on the taste when it ripens.

My Clytia fruits (3-4) is still green, not ripe yet so maybe another month? The fruits are not that large, smaller than the Maddox seedling fruit.

I was checking my tree to see if any fruits are ripe and I did find one ripe fruit that fell off the branch and was in the organza bag. I lost the tag on this one but it looks like the Supersweet. I took some photos so I will post it later.

It has a nice yellow outer skin color.

Here's the photo of the fruit I picked today (fell in the bag). I tasted it and can tell it is Supersweet. This variety looks nice, but sometimes if it is to ripe like this one then the flesh texture is starchy. It tastes better if you pick it and eat it before it is fully ripe like this one. This variety does get a lot of fruits so I will keep it for another year before I decide to keep it or not. The fruit taste was ok, but to soft for my liking.

There is a 50+ year old tree in Redlands, CA. It currently is loaded with fruit.

The owner has offered to let people pick from it for free, provided they set up an appointment with her. The tree is simply overloaded with fruit.

Search for "Plants Traders Inland Empire" on Facebook, join the group, then once accepted search for "sapote." You'll find the posts where you can contact/direct message the tree owner easily.

What does this have to do with the shape of white sapote?

Seemed relevant given the interest in the fruit while on the topic of its shape, and the lack of such in local markets.
Apologies if it offended!

No, not an issue. Any chance you can post a few photos of those fruit from Redlands?

I didn't know if you were just trying to get people to go there to pick fruits or if you were going to show some photos of the fruits. I'm always interested in the fruit photos myself.

Brian Laufer has a large grove of white sapotes trees and sells the fruits. He posted photos and they looked good, bought some and they tasted excellent. Now I have those grafted on my multi-grafted tree, just call it Brian Unknown WS.

I wonder if your Redlands white sapote owner who sell a few cuttings from his tree.

I'd bet they are known varieties that lost the tag. especially if older tree's.

Yes, definitely could be from an existing named variety.

I have a few more photos of the Younghan's Gold fruits that fell from tree, taste is very good.

Also have a few new fruits (still green) with interesting shape so I will take a photo when it stops raining and post them.

Here's my Younghan's Gold fruits, photos taken on 12/29/23. When they get ripe, I will take a few more. I ate a few of these fruits that fell off the tree, it was very sweet, brix=19.

I wish I had fruit to contribute.  The only Ones I have are my first fruit hopefully.  This is a Mary Lane that I got from Mark last summer and grafted it on to a Redlands that I got from Lara Farms.  I was pretty amazed when it flowered so quickly.  Hopefully the fruits stay on.

If anyone has C.Terameria #6 & or #7 fruits and scions available I would love to get my hands on them.  Any WS fruits as well.

Just went to fruit and spice park Yesterday and a few of the trees look like they are going to produce heavy this year.

Pretty new to fruit growing but I am full steam ahead and getting much better.
