Bush2Beach:
If someone ever fruits a Duguetia in the US then we’ll really have some action. Way to shoot for the stars guys!
SHV:
General question for those growing Duguetia. What is the appeal of growing this fruit tree? The fruit look cool, like a colorful pinecone, but there doesn’t look like much to nibble on. Is the flavor orgasmic?

Haha there’s only been one that I know of that fruited duguetia phaeoclados in Florida but apparently had a flavor similar to blue cheese…

Personally I just like the aesthetics of the fruit. Do I ever expect to fruit one where I’m at? No but if I could maybe get a flowering down the line that’d be cool. It’s a good thing I enjoy plants for the ornamental properties as well

Hey man! I just received a Duguetia ssp "Yellow" And the first thing I thought was " This isn't a Duguetia." So I searched up the name to see if there was any discussion on the species, and I came across your comment on it. Good to hear we both agree it's going to get reclassified. Mine looks identical to yours in the picture. My guess is that it's an Annona species. At least its growth habit is similar to Annonas.
