Some plants are tough to graft. Guava is one of them. Currently, approached grafting seems to be the most successful; however, it is tough and time comsuming to setup.

So I'm thinking what if we graft by calus instead of cambium? Note that I have not tried them out yet.  Let me know what you think.  Here are the steps.

1-cause wound on both scion and rootstock by peeling off a strip of bark. Note: do not cut off scion or top work the rootstock.

2-Let the scion and rootstock try to heal the wound by forming calus at the edge of the wound.

3-Once there is enough calus formed on the scion and rootstock, do these:
a- remove the scion by cutting off below the wound. Wrap it with parafilm.
b- top work the rootstock by cutting off above the wound.
c- gently scrap (not remove) the calus on both the scion and rootstock.
d- attach the scion and rootstock, making sure their calus are contacting.
e- wrap the joint.
f- Shade the scion with a piece of leave, paper, or aluminum foil.

5-set mailing cost such as priority or first class and their prices.
6-When the items will be sent out.
7-List our paypal name, so members can pay for their items.  Members pay to friend as description.  Member must list TFF name.
8-Ask members to send the list of items they are buying.

This topic is not intended to start controversy.  I'm rather new here.  I have read about why people require mininmum purchase.  I have read about why people won't sell to members that are less than 1 year.  So it is obvious that I would like to know why people exclude California, Alaska and Hawai.

I'm in California. I might know the answers already.  Here are probably the reasons:

California: strict agriculture laws. I know this for sure.

Hawai: strict agriculture laws?

Alaska: long shipping time.  Items die based on duration or cold?

I would like to hear your reasons.  Please, no criticism to those who answer.

Fruits description.  It is green.  It tends to crack if not water consitantly.  It can get big.  If it mature, it is sweet and has some complex flavor.  It is is chewy. The peel is bumpy when small, and gradually smooth out when mature. Flower is very fertile. It is hardly misshaped. The pulb is segmented.

I think it is Bradly.  Thanks in advance.

I bought a seedling from Exotica almost two decade ago.  This year it is now starting to fruit.  Massive size tree.  Root can be invasive.  Large delicious fruits. The fruits are astringing.  The riper the fruit, the less astringing.  However, there is a way to get rid of the astringing. To get rid of astringing taste: 1- put it in plastic container. 2-(optional) put a pinch of salt and ground chili. 3- close the lid. 4- very ,very gently shake using circular motion, not up and down motion.  The key is to tenderize or bruise the internal of the fruit until it is so soft and even begin to explode. 5-eat the exploded or very soft ones. 6-continue shaking. 7-go to step 5.

I aired layer the top

this is how the fruits are on the branches
