You know, there is only the present time. So, if you were looking into moving to another country, why not start the process now? Perhaps you'll find a place more in alignment with your preference in the South Americas and life will go on as it needs to, just in a way that you enjoy more. There is no usda in Costa Rica.

Thanks for sharing, Australian rain forest species are always interesting.

Thank you for sharing. Sometimes what we need to do in order to get something is to let it go and see what happens. If we actually need it, we'll get it. In perfect timing.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: garden hose filter
« on: October 05, 2021, 02:03:56 PM »
Filters are effective. At the same time, you might not be able to do it with a cheap plug in filter. Get your water tested and find out what the best solution is for you. While at it, i would opt for a drinking water safe hose as well.

I would just be aware no to inhale pollen or get it on pets unintentionally.

I would add a good non-toxic/drinking water safe hose to the filter. I suggest https://www.eleyhosereels.com/

My pleasure.

Thank you for sharing and acting on your passion. Let me know if you see anything interesting in the skies up there. Maybe you have already?

Does this apply to seeds that we buy online or is it for small business?

The rice we grow and store bought rice are not the same product. It requires what is relevant for it to be what it is. Doing what we love is no effort at all.

Tropical Vegetables and Other Edibles / Growing rice without flooding
« on: March 24, 2021, 05:28:46 PM »
I recently became aware that flooding is used as a weed control method and is not a requirement for growing rice. This inspired me to learn more about it and maybe have a small scale production for my self and the family.

Is anyone growing rice without flooding, or has any experience on the subject?
Thank you.

That is yet to be set, it will need to be the required dimensions to accommodate the needed water pressure/flow and the occasional people stepping on it. I will have multiple zones, some of them on terraces, so maybe i'll need different pipes from the raised beds/leveled ground.
I would also like to have the system set so it lasts and is as efficient and maintenence free as possible.

Thank you Kevin.
I'm planning on doing things as natural and as in alignment with my well being as i can. That implies crimping the pipes when possible and soldering with silver when needed. I'm thinking of doing them above ground and wondering the implications of that on daily life.
Gathering some more information and experience as i do my best to do my best.

Does anyone here have it and is willing to share their experience?
How is the maintenance on it? All feedback is appreciated.
