I can't remember my original 5 but I think citrus was one and if so it's been kicked off the list by Jackfruit.

I'm pretty sure this list was made as a joke.  However, Minneola is the most popular tangelo, and it has a great flavor.  Late in the season it gets sweet, too.  Grown in a dry Mediterranean climate it's much better than grown in Florida.

Keep in mind, I haven't had the opportunity to try many tropical fruits, and the ones I have had were low quality from grocery stores where they were probably frozen, picked underripe, or just generally mistreated. Therefore, the local fruits I've tried have been the best.

1. Fresh local blackberries and raspberries. I grew up in the PNW which is known for its berries, so it's silly that it took my so long, but I tried blackberries and raspberries for the first time this summer. My mind was blown.
2. Fresh local donut peaches. Also tried these for the first time this summer, YUMMM. Maybe tied with the #1 above.
3. A good pineapple. The ones I tried while in Puerto Rico were THE BEST
4. This one type of mandarin I got at the international food store last year, super easy to peel and very sweet and tasty inside.
5. Fresh summer watermelon from a farmers market

I think good mangoes and atemoya as well as big lychees have lots of fans and something universal about them. There are however some vary good fruit that I think should be in wider circulation than they are currently. I am referring to the best varieties of these being the larger and sweeter ones.
1 Longkong/duku lNgsat
2 Starapples
3 kwai muk
4 abiu
5 grimal jaboticaba

1. Mango. The most delicious thing that grows on a plant.
2. Passionfruit. If only someone would invent a seedless variety. ;D
3. Pineapple. Best when grilled on a kebab skewer.
4. Orange. Best when right off the tree.
5. Raspberry. Best with chocolate.

Honorable mentions: Coconut, Dragonfruit, Nectarine, Strawberry

I got the scion from a friend he said it's Satsuma tangerine but I think it's Tangelo based on fruit shape and color. Is yours an easy peel skin or not? My "unverified" fruit is not an easy peel and it breaks up in smaller pieces.

1. Mango
2. Mamey Sapote
3. Cherry
4. Lychee
5. Jakfruit

Honorable mention: Avocado, Canistel, fresh Georgia Peach

I'm surprised that Canistel makes the list consider you have been exposed to so many fruits. I guess you like the wet type? How do you like fresh good mangosteen?

Naval Oranges
Lychees
Apples
Grapes (seedless)
Bananas

Tomatoes arent bad either, they make a good sauce!

You're the luckiest guy as the wish-list can be easily filled in one supermarket, almost year around :)

My top 5 would have to be:

Mango- nothing beats the perfect mango
Lychees- highly addictive and a close second
Watermelon- end of May Georgia watermelons are perfect
Avocados- hated them growing up, love them now
Blueberries - ripe rabbiteye from my farm in NW Florida
Only if one knows how to select a perfectly ripe watermelon. Know the trick?

You like Valencia orange better than Washington navel ?
or a red navel ?
i have room for 2-3 more trees, and already have a blood orange, mandarin, Myers lemon,
but i want a good tasting orange, that hopefully ripens later than the others.
My mandarin has fruit from October to March.
i think Valencia and Washington Navel both ripen late dont they ?

It's too late now as I didn't see your question.
Washington vavel only last to March/April and they start drop off the tree. Taste OK but it has the flavor of an old over ripen orange.
Valencia (some varieties have no seeds or just one or two (Midknight Valencia I think) season from April to August. They have strong orange flavor (what else?) and intense taste (almost like adding a little salt in it). All orranges start bloom at the same time in early spring -- March in SoCal -- but Valencia needs more sun and days than others, so fruits pack a lot of energy.

I would suggest Cara orange which is much better than Washington navel. It's firmer, sweeter with some hint of Valencia with no seeds.

Nothing beat a full sun home grow Valencia after chilled down.

1) Home grown Valencia orange
2) some mango varieties
3) mangosteen
4) Home grown Cantaloupe
5) Home grown Pomegranate

After more years and more eating, my new list :
1) home grow Midknight Valencia orange (or Cara orange)
2) Ima Pasand mango
3) mangosteen
4) home grow apricot
5) California home grow pomegranate . I'm surprised that this ancient exotic rich flavor fruit is not on many people lists. Too messy to deal with? I used to have a very old large tree and one year I tried to make Pomegranate wine and so I cracked and picked many fruits with my 10 fingers -- enough for more than 10 gallons of juice. The wine turned bad and I waste so much of the delicous juice. People picked them too early and the seeds were not full yet. In SoCal the best time is couple weeks before Thanksgiving, then the normally yellow thin membrance is in white or pink color, and the inner skin is white too. The best variety is sweet and soft seeds.

I just find most poms to be too bitter to really love them. Maybe I haven't had any selected varieties but so far, not impressed.

After scrolling thru 21 pages of top fives I'm forced to conclude that most people haven't even tasted the world's best fruit. Probably because they're very hard to grow to perfection. That would be a tree ripened Honey series nectarine: Honey Lite, Blaze, Royale, or Diva. And other similar nectarines. They need to be grown with a long period of water deficit to get the brix up to 24-30. The flavor is unlike anything else I've eaten, extremely rich. Next would be 25-32 brix Bing or similar sweet cherries that also have high acid. The best apricots might be third. Again grown with a water deficit to get the brix up to 24+. Orangered would top the apricot list. Next the best pluots again grown dry to reach 25 brix: Flavor Supreme and Flavor King. Morus Nigra mulberry are wonderful. Summer Muscat grape has a very strong Muscat flavor and is the best grape I've grown.

I haven't had any citrus, tropicals, or subtropicals as good as these but then I haven't been much where the good ones are grown. The citrus I've grown has been good but isn't in the same league as my list.

I love watermelon and blueberries, both very refreshing, but they're way way down on flavor, even the 24 brix Sweetcrisp blueberries I've grown are a distant third.

I've grown and eaten lots of apples and pears but a top five, hardly.

Most commercial grapes even at 25 brix lack flavor. I've grown a lot of these.

Black Madeira and similar figs are great fruit but lack the depth of flavor of the best stone fruits.

So my list:
Honey Royale nectarine
Bing sweet cherry
Orangered apricot
Flavor Supreme Pluot
Morus Nigra mulberry
Summer Muscat grape
Black Madeira fig
