From Guadalajara back yard, Mexicans call it a guava.  Anything more specific?  Tasty, a bit sweet/sour.  Seeds look like Mexican Guava.

Hi Jack

looks like a Mirtacea for sure.

if that is one Psidium species my guess is Psidium oligospermum that sometimes is called "araçá branco - white araçá" in Brasil.

see this please:

What do you think?

All of the description fits Miguel, except the fruits are not "pear shaped".  Very close description otherwise.

Thanks Luc and Raul...Arrayan seems to be correct.  Called guayabillo en español?  Would Psidium sartorianum be correct then?

Is a little bit different than Guava most people like it, if you add salt, Limon and Chile is delicious, I saw a tree yesterday outside of the place I had lunch, I'm going to check if a can get you some fruit...

Thanks Raul...Sarte Guava, Psidium sartorianum fits it well. Also called Arrayán.  Lots of info on the Internet. Got it from a friend's yard in Guadalajara.  When fruit is mature it is greenish yellow and does have that citrus tang.  I can see it use in aguas.  Threw some seeds in some sphagnum moss on heating cable to see how they sprout.  Tree has never been hit by frost.
