Ishigaki Island - Japanese Peach Pineapple Update
« on: June 22, 2023, 08:31:03 PM »
I promised some growers I would check in on how the Japanese peach pineapple crowns have taken. Out of the four, all survived. Even though the grower cropped the crowns, new growth is popping up.
Next to the Gold Barrel pineapple, I think these are possibly the most interesting tasting pineapple you can find, and so far, well worth the expense of finding and importing.

Looks great.

But does it taste like an Irwin mango?

Thank you for sharing.
Allow yourself to know, if you wish, that this is a multi dimensional communication.
See what happens.

Would enjoy trying such varieties, can they be ordered for delivery to the US mainland like the sugarloaf from kauai, or durian from Malaysia, or was this something you picked up while traveling?

These aren't available due to usda import restrictions, but hopefully,  someday,  maybe we’ll find these at some specialty markets.

I hope to have fruit & pups w/in a couple years.
