I have 3 fruiting Topaz plants right now... The Original Mother and 2 grafted plants.
All are setting fruit... but they are growing in the middle of a Ptang orchard of 10 flowering cousins.
Bumble bees are very busy...

Pitangatuba has always struck me as having potential.
Beautiful appearance. Nice, large, juicy, colorful fragrant fruit.
But sour as hell.

Kevin

15
Glad to hear... and good luck with that project.

Yes it's a selected seedling... and definitely the best tasting one I have grown.
I've been growing them from seed for years now. Looking for a tasty specimen.
Most are just too sour to eat.
I had just about given up on Pitangatubas until I found this one.
Nice dark-green, dense growth with lots of blooms too... and a nice sweet taste.
I started grafting Topaz last year and again this Spring.
Have a few to share now and more coming soon...
