Did not know there was such a thing. I have been growing and eating yard long beans for a very long time but am only familiar with the vining types that grow on bamboo poles or a trellis.

The only one I have head of in the US is Thai Soldier from Baker Creek.

Its probably best not give it too much nitrogen or it will start vining. That is what happens with some of my more vigorous bush bean varieties.

Oh I remember this one or something similar. Was not impressed by the taste. Bought it at an asian store. Taste more like a young cowpea, you know the dry bean.

After looking around there seemed to be a bush sitao which is the common sitao (regular long yard bean) crossed to a cowpea cultivar. If you know people in the Philippines.

Found another source for bush long bean in the us. This appears to be a totally different variety (or 3 different varieties to be exact) than the one at Baker Creek.
