I was also at the tasting last year in Punta Gorda
I sampled the Bolt last year and also was not impressed. Taste is subjective
for sure. It reminded me of a perfect Glenn

So without trying the fruit, but reviewing responses to origin post, this seems like a sales hype. I lived on mango orchard. They had 40 different varieties and ate Carrie. It tastes like sweet buttered popcorn. No one else is hyping this. Enough said..

A sales "hype" would imply a vested financial interest. Let me make it perfectly clear that I am neither misrepresenting the incredible taste (30 plus years of eating mango, 60 or more varieties tasted) of Bolt nor do I receive any sort of compensation for my statements nor do I have any Bolt fruit, scions or trees for sale either now, or in the immediate future. I completely and totally stand 100% behind my statements. Fortunately, Matt has planted 50 more Bolt trees and nature willing, there will be more Bolt available in the future for more people to taste. Regarding those persons at the taste test who claim they ate Bolt and it was disappointing, for each of you who said it was not incredibly delicious, there are others on video who have made the statement it was the best mango they ever ate.

I hadn't heard much about the "Bolt" trees until I saw them at Matt's stand at Mango Fest. His gift was an Angie. I haven't come across much about the fruit or the trees in my research efforts thus far, however I have come across a few reports here and there, such as this one. Something I'll need to keep an eye on; I'm hoping further details will emerge soon.

Does anyone know if bolt is mono or poly-embryonic? Also is it early, mid or late. Not only will the soil make a difference in the fruit, all environmental conditions play a factor as well. Alfonzo would be a good example of this. I am interested that if the tree may prefer some chill. More than it gets in South FL. Would love to trail it where I am, sandy loom soil and some winter chill. Anyone have seeds?
