Really like that bulb size and separation.
Don’t rush, take time and enjoy life and food.

Really like that bulb size and separation.

It was not fully pollinated so the fruit was sparse compared to the one I cut open the week prior.

At the stage in the image, the fruit was too soft for my liking but it looked pretty cool.

It's usually sweet and very flavorful.

This one was too soft for me so I only tried a tiny piece and then threw the rest away after I removed the seeds.

The first fruit I ever got from the tree a few years ago was so ripe it fell off the tree and was mushy but I sampled it and even that had really good flavor just a horrible texture.

My preferred texture is firm and somewhat crunchy. The only problem with the fruit at that stage is the amount of latex.

I haven't had anyone on the forum try the fruit for a second opinion but I have another fruit on the tree right now so maybe I can share half of it with someone so they can try it.

I would be happy to do a taste testing video together. Have been doing a lot of mangoes and some jackfruit tastings this summer. Please let me know when this another fruit ripens.

The pulp looks more like champedek at that stage!

Wow, looks like it would be delicious and is that about the size they have fruited for you?

Yeah, I thought that was pretty cool. I wonder if it has any chempedak genetics.

So far they have been a little larger. This was one of the smallest ones. It also was not pollinated fully so that may be why.

Guys. Don’t get distracted. The real news here: no matter how tiny, Sheehan ate a piece of fruit.

I know the mother of Sheehan's tree personally and we go back a ways. Many of her children have been very good performers and just like their mother fruit have low latex and nice flesh. The is however a darker side in the family tree. Some children have been black sheep and not lived up to expectations. While jackfruit seedlings are often as good as their mother it is not always the case that the fruit falls close to the tree.
