Do you want (regular red) hog plum cutting
« on: September 29, 2022, 07:16:20 PM »
Done

To those who will be trying this, good luck and hope in a few years you are talking about the fruit.

Had a Hog Plum tree knocked over by wind (fringe of Ian) and I am stumping it (will try to upright the stump to see if it survives.)

I have lots of cuttings for anyone who want some.  It is free but you have to come get it or pay for shipping.
I understand thick cutting an inch or more across work best so I am making a few of those but if you tell me what you want (up to 2 or 3 inch thickness) I may be able to save you some before these end up by the roadside enroute to the dump.

US addresses only please - cant do international shipping with these.  No one will be happy.

They grow super easy from cuttings. Just stuff in the dirt, don't let dry out.

Theres literally one study online researching Spondias grafting lol. It looks like hog plum can graft well onto other Spondias species easily, more or less. Unfortunately, June plum (S. dulcis) wasn't part of the study. Probably worth a try.

If you requested this and didn't get a tracking number, PM me and I will make sure I send it.
Many of you should have yours by now or will in the next day or two.
Good luck growing these out.

Damn, I'm really bummed I missed this! Been looking for red hog plum cuttings for a long time!
