Need some help with mango ID
« on: July 09, 2023, 08:21:53 PM »
Friend brought a a few mangos from a person with a tree in Vero beach of a mango with a taste profile completely unique to anything I’ve every tried… it doesn’t fit the mold of classic florida, Indian, or se Asian, the mango is tiny, flesh is whiter that ivory and the flavor is sweet honey (really though not like that one knock off called raw honey🙈), zero fibers, and creamy. Mango looks like it’s very susceptible to anthractnose. Here are some pics.

Thanks,

Joe

It could also be a seed-grown tree, not a named cultivar, right?

I grow and love ice cream mango it’s not an ice cream, supposedly the tree is grafted because Im told there are two diff types of mangos on the tree as a whole. It’s possible maybe this is seedling and it’s fruiting with another type grafted to it.

The shape looks like white piri but the flesh color is off.
If check some of the Indian mangos on Alex's site

The description is close to Iman Pasand, but you would have said it has India mango aroma.
