Please ID: AU Rainforest fruit

Outside reminds me of smiths tamarind but inside is solid and does not detach, it does not have a capsule like the smiths tamarind.
Taste of the fruit is sour with a little bit of astringency, seams edible to me.

Looks like  fairly big fruit , is it on a picnic table ?

Yes picknick table, aprox 30mm diameter.
Not  Acronychia cause seeds looks different when I googled.

There's so many fruits here that have that star three-segment look to them, It's unfortunate there isn't a sweet one found yet.

You didn't get any photos of the leaves or anything? What other species have a similar looking fruit? Groups of three seems uncommon. Maybe some not-fully-ripe Toechima?

I couldn't find my copy of Australian Rainforest Fruits: A Field Guide. I must have misplaced it somewhere. I looked through my copy of Australian Rainforest Seeds, which is not nearly as good a guide for fruit identification. Unfortunately, I could not find a matching fruit in that book. There are some similar fruits but none with those prominent ribs on the surface.

I travelled with the book Fruits of the Rainforest to Far Nth Qld when it came out, and found many of the fruits in it.
The fruit in Cassowarys pic doesn't ring a bell with me straight away, but I have not been back there for years either.
Some immature fruit can look quite different to when mature, at some stages they can look like another genus or family.
You could try asking the Tropical Forest Research Centre in Atherton, or the Australian Tropical Herbarium at JCU.
Some FB pages deal with rare rainforest species in Australia.

the leaves where high in the canopy and can't determine the correct leaves cause many tree's around.

The old version of the Fruits of the Rain Forest : A Guide to Fruits in Australian Tropical Rainforest
have the edibility of the fruits added but they removed it in the newest edition unfortunately.
