Miracle berries would be sent fresh and whole as to retain seed viability.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Leo Manuel's Mango Notes
« on: August 07, 2022, 04:26:20 PM »
Hi All,

As part of the California Rare Fruit Growers, San Diego board I am helping to spread the body of knowledge that Mr. Leo Manuel collected during his time here on earth. He was deeply involved with our chapter. He helped to trial mango varieties here and created some varieties of his own. These varieties are being entrusted to members of our chapter for propagation. The link below  is for his Mango Notes. Please share this knowledge. His varieties will be available as our club propagates more material. Have a great week!

Added $30 Yellow Bourbon coffee seeding (6-8in). Also, will update with pictures tomorrow after confirming current orders! Thanks all!

104
I am not too terribly far from there. I can do it next week. PM me to work out the details.

105
Updated with the following:

$1 Kaffir plum (each seed)
$1.50 Black Sapote (each seed)
$0.75 Moringa (each seed) or 3 for $5
$5 Miracle berry (each seed)

I just checked them today. Out of 72 airlayers, I think I will have about 10 rooted enough to cut in the next month. It's no rush though. I would rather have a very well rooted airlayer with a great chance at thriving than a risky early removal. Will keep you posted.

Hey RevivalRoots,

These macadamia have been taking a while to root, lol. Meanwhile, the rose apple that I did rooted strongly within two months. I will reach out to all of those who emailed me this week :)

108
I agree with the above assessment. People are growing coffee at commercial scale here in San Diego county. My neighbor grows his outdoors all year long.

Update:

I have over 30 Beaumont Macadamia airlayers that will be ready by the end of the year. They range in size from 2ft to 5ft long. $30 each, 5 or more $25. Pickup will be pre-arranged in Spring Valley, San Diego. Shipping will be considered on a case by case basis. Price for shipping will depend on the cost of shipping, not included in base price, and will be calculated as I get the info as to where I am shipping to. Please email james.b.lively@gmail.com to get on my list :)

Hi All,

I am helping a neighbor to move an abundance of seeds. In order to make this a smooth process I will respond to order requests every Sunday, confirm order if enough seeds are available, and collect, clean and pack seeds, . There is a $20 minimum (plus shipping). Shipping normally runs about $8-12 per envelope unless it is much lighter, heavier or is going somewhere far. Shipping for plants is variable and will be calculated upon order confirmation (you can specify the speed at which you would like to be shipped items). No international shipping. If you live in San Diego, you can specify local pickup to save on shipping. Only shipping within the US. Thanks!

$1 Barbados Cherry (per seed)
$1 Jocote (per seed)
$1 Surinam Cherry, red (per seed)
$0.10 Inca Golden Berry (per seed)
$10 Ice Cream Bean (whole)
$15 Guayabana Seedlings (6in), will be barerooted and packed in coco coir or peat moss
$2 Yellow Coffee (per seed)
$2 Red Bourbon Coffee (per seed)
$1 Regular Red Arabica Coffee (per seed)
$1 Kaffir plum (each seed)
$1.50 Black Sapote (each seed)
$1 Moringa (each seed)
$5 Miracle berry (each seed)
$30 Yellow coffee seeding (6-8in)
$0.20 Lemon Guava (each seed)
$0.20 Strawberry Guava (each seed)

This next Sunday I will stop by my neighbor's place again and take good photographs of the fruits. Likely, I will be updating this post as more fruits become available :)

Hi All,

I have been growing in SD for about a year and am now very active in the CRFG San Diego board. Would love to meet more San Diego peeps. I don't have much produce right now but can buy some stuff at Specialty Produce to share.

No worries come on over.  What part of san diego do you reside?

City Heights, you?

Picked up a Wango 4 today in box of goodies. Will post pics later. This one looks different.

Could I ask you to send me a couple of seeds, if I give you USA address? I'd later share the information about it's cold hardiness in our climate:)

Roblack in other threads about this has said that he isn't going to give out seeds for these varieties at the moment.

Anyone growing this? I am located in San Diego.

Does anyone have these varieties here in the states? I see that they are available overseas, but its not likely going to make it to California, lol.

Hey All,

I am growing in San Diego. I am part of the California Rare Fruit Growers San Diego chapter. I am happy to be part of this forum. Its great that there are so many plant nerds like us! I would love to buy some seeds of these different wild mango species and see how they grow here/share with the rest of the club. Would anyone be willing to share budwood/seeds?

James
