Annona Deceptrix starting to flower
« on: September 12, 2024, 03:09:26 PM »
My annona deceptrix tree is starting to flower less than 3 years from seed. I know I sold a few on here last year just wanted to check in if anybody else has gotten theirs to flower or fruit ?

I'm on the hunt for jaboticaba, Eugenia, Pouteria, Passiflora, and annona fruits (like the fruit part), if you have any to spare, lemme know!  I'm also looking for any plants that could bear fruit soon :)

I’m not entirely sure but I’d say probably not its a former raimondia species

darn, at least it fruits fast from seed. this specie seems very similar to annona cherimoliodes

i think you're right, raimondia looks rather distant from annona, i dont understand why all of these genera keep getting lumped together. https://www.jstor.org/stable/23492124?seq=5

If it’s been flowering for 6 months shouldn’t you have fruit by now?

Check where I live. Those 6 months have been overwintering in the house but also haven’t figured out the pollination method for this one. Hopefully will have that dialed in this season
