Hello all, I have a few seedling plants to sell of the following varieties:

Rollinia: $25 each, 3 available ( ~1 ft height)

Blue Jaboticaba: $45 each, 2 available ( ~11 inches height)

Imbe: $15 each, 2 available ( ~ 6 inch height)

Pitangatuba: $15 each, 2 available ( ~ 10 inch height)

Shipping is a flat rate of $22, USA only. Send a message for more information about individual plants

2

 4 inch sugarcane cuttings

 $5 per cutting

$10 shipping, USA only

3
Jaboticaba plants are about 6 inches in height, little over a year old.  Some images below

The blue jabo seeds came from a tree with exceptionally sweet fruit, as well as slightly larger than on average than fruit from other trees. No other vexator tree I ever tasted fruit from had such good fruits, even in similar growing conditions. Therefore, I think these seedlings are a bit special.

Pitombas are about 2 years old, size varies.

USA only, will be shipped with priority mail. $10 shipping costs

Will be shipped with a little soil wrapped in most tissue.

Plants available:

Red: 3 ($10 each)

Blue: 11 ($25 each)

Pitangatuba: 2 ($15 each)

Imbe: 2 ($15 each)

Pitomba: 4 ($10 each)

If you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the replies.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Is breadfruit worth growing?
« on: June 01, 2020, 09:32:19 PM »
Hello everyone, as the title implies I am interested in breadfruit. My HOA seems to be allowing people to plant some trees in the front of the house giving me access to a larger in-ground planting space, and I was thinking of breadfruit as one of the options. Unlike most of my other options I don't know much about breadfruit. I ask the question because its not really a fruit that you eat as a fruit. But I am very interested in self sufficiency and breadfruit seems like a good source of food.  So, I ask the question, is this tree really worth growing or should I instead plant something like a cecropia or longan?

Yet another issue going on with one of my plants, what could this be?

Also, I noticed this on one of my malay apple's leaves. Looks like eggs, are they pests?

Any information is appreciated!

Citrus General Discussion / Is this citrus canker?
« on: May 29, 2020, 09:26:42 AM »
Well, yet another thing seems to be wrong with one of my citrus trees... do they ever get a break?

This time it's the finger lime, it's the first time I saw this and oh boy it scared me a bit. But I need to be sure. If it is citrus canker what can I do? How do I proceed? I know virtually nothing about this disease or what to do. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

So I live in an area where we have gardeners come around and cut the grass and such. Well this time, they decided to add their own fertilizer to my in ground plants, right next to the trunk, ESPECIALLY on my coconut, which looks as if a small bucket was just poured over it.  I tried to get as much of it away from the trunk and spread it around because there is no way I can remove it.  Then it rained.

I'm real worried for my plants, are they going to be okay?

As the title states I am looking to buy some Cupuacu and Cupui seeds. Preferably pre germinated, but anything will do.

Citrus General Discussion / What happened to my grapefruit?
« on: May 26, 2020, 12:54:39 PM »
Hello everyone, this happened quite a while ago on my grapefruit tree. This was before I discovered this forum so I forgot about it, but I saw it again today and I want to know what happened.

This was only on the new leaves, old leaves and fruit are just fine.

And here is the fruit:

What happened?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / How to get rid of birds?
« on: May 26, 2020, 10:07:17 AM »
I'm tired of the birds taking my smaller fruit! Anything I can do to get rid of them? Maybe giving them a bird feeder so they don't go after fruit?

Any idea is appreciated!

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Garcinia varieties
« on: May 24, 2020, 02:55:41 PM »
Hello all, looked around the forum and saw a lot of talk about "Luc's garcinia" and it sounds great. I don't have much experience with garcinias, but ive had mangosteen and one or two unknown garcinias, all tasted great. So I am interested in garcinias. I bought an acahcha but that's about it. So I want to know some species of garcinias that taste both sweet and sour, and would do ok in a container. Other gracinias I heard of are lemon drop, madrono, bacuripari, Kandis, imbe, and cuban mangosteen. Any of those fit my description? Any info is appreciated!

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Chop and Drop plants? Nitrogen fixers?
« on: May 22, 2020, 11:33:05 AM »
Hello everyone, I have recently watched some videos and heard of something called a Chop and Drop plant, as well as "nitrogen fixers".  I have had some tropical fruit trees for some time but only more recently started collecting them on a larger scale, and I recently found this forum where I have already asked a large amount of questions with many more on the way. I'm looking to make a self sufficient  fruit tree garden and from what I hear these two kinds of plants can help make that possible. So, what are they and how can I utilize them to help my fruit trees?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / What is happening to my fruits?
« on: May 20, 2020, 06:11:54 PM »
Hello, I once again have a question about one of my plants. This time it's the surinam cherry. I forgot all about it until i went by it today and i saw the fruits.

As you can see in the image,  my fruits are all cracking up like this and "drying up"

I had no ripe ones on the tree today, but they have almost no flesh when you bite into them. This is very recent, started just over a month ago, before then they were all normal and juicy.
What could be the cause of this, and can I do something about it? Some of the fruits even lost some of their flesh, revealing the seed.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Is my Abiu plant ok?
« on: May 19, 2020, 06:12:43 PM »
Hello everyone, my Abiu tree has just finished flowering and not a single fruit. It is for sure at the very least 4 years old. Everywhere I read points to the tree producing 2-3 years from seed. Is something wrong with my plant, or should I just wait more and hope for the best?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Sapodilla fruit disease?
« on: May 19, 2020, 01:22:01 PM »
Hello all, for a while now, some white things have been appearing on my fruit. Some more so than others. It looked to me like a fungus, but spraying copper fungicide seemed to do nothing. What is it and is it dangerous. How do I get rid of it?

24
As the title states, does anyone sell or know someone/someplace where I could buy cupuacu and cupui plants? I would like larger plants but anything will do as long as it is a plant.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Salak Plams in containers.
« on: May 18, 2020, 10:21:39 AM »
As the title states, I am interested in knowing if Salak can be grown in smaller containers. Read on a website somewhere that they can be grown in a container, but I need to be sure. I do believe I need a male and a female as well for fruiting so it would greatly help to keep them close together in pots in a semi-shaded location.
