Title: Ohana Express cutting on eBay auction this week!
Post by: Bobooshki on July 25, 2021, 09:18:21 PM
Some rareness up for auction this week on eBay.

Nice thick cutting, approximately 20” long.

Mother plant comes from a cutting that was acquired from the one and only Spicy Exotics!

No reserve, starts at only $1! Someone may get a steal:

It's already overpriced. Any cutting over $10 is a ripoff. Rare or not, it's a frenzy, created by internet heros.

Everyone has their own opinion on the value of cuttings.

Started the bid at $1 and I’ll let the masses decide what it’s worth, no reserve.

All that’s guaranteed is that you’re bidding on a real cutting of Ohana Express.

Can I buy some rare dragonfruit varieties from you for $10 each?

This debate has raged about other plant auctions in the past. People pay what they want to pay for certain plants. The price they pay is certainly affected by hype but also scarcity, and if Ohana Express was a common dragonfruit variety, no one would feel a need to pay $100 for a cutting. They would be able to buy a cutting for $10. If you know of a source where we can all buy a cutting of that size for $10, feel free to tell us. The reviews about Ohana Express are very good. It sounds like a variety I might want to add to my collection; perhaps not for $100, but I have five more days before the auction ends to decide whether this cutting is too tempting to pass up.

Yes, but by that point it won't be rare.

Just for clarification…

Hana is a white flesh DF:

Ohana Express looks to be a red flesh DF:

…for a DF, I’ll wait for the hype to die down.
