The Indonesian variety is called "Aromanis"
The Malaysian variety is called "Harumanis"
I understand that they are different varieties.

Yes, it is called 'King' mango and sometimes it is called 'S' mango because of its shape when small.  The seed is very thin and long.

This is the Malaysian 'King' mango.  Most of the fruits weigh slightly more than 2 kilos.  However, this one hit the 3 kg. mark.  Nice flavor and no fiber at all.  Enjoy viewing.

What to do with the sap coming out while doing bark grafting
on a mango tree branch.  Will it be okay to tape the budwood
and branch with the sap?  Will appreciate your advice.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Malaysian 'King' Mango
« on: August 07, 2015, 09:11:10 PM »
This is the first year my 'King Mango'  is bearing fruit.
I had 5 fruits (each fruit more than 2.75 kg.) on this 3 year old plant.
The seed is long and thin as you can see.  Amazingly it was totally fibreless.
It did not crack for its size.  The taste was good.  As good as my Choc Anon.
Though it ripen almost evenly, the top part had a little bit of sour mixed with sweetness.
It has a very strong mango flavor.  I enjoyed eating this mango.

This mango is also called 'S' because of the shape.
It weighs 2.85 kg.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Durian stall in Singapore
« on: January 31, 2013, 03:49:01 AM »
Yes,  those durians in Singapore are from Malaysia.  I live in the southern tip of Peninsula Malaysia.
It is just half and hour away from Singapore.  During the durian season I use to see tons of them
being transported into Singapore.  Since it is so close by, the durians you get in Singapore should
be as fresh as the ones from Malaysia.  The D24 is the most popular one produced commercially.
The season comes twice a year.  We purchase and consume durians every season.
