I'll take some, what other plants do you have?

2
Justjim, they should have flowered already. To try and fruit them in a container, I would recommend a 25 gallon size as a MINIMUM. 45 would be much better. Also bananas need a lot of fertilizer. They grow fast and need nutrients to feed the growth.

I still have Blue Java, Goldfinger and Dwarf Brazilian available in 3-5 gallon pots.

My Dwarf Brazilian in the ground for a year, grown from a pup is already fruiting.  Do you feed your plants?

Janet

I've been using osmocote.  Is there something better??  So disappointed in no progress.

I'd be interested in those banana plants for sure.   I can get down that way weekdays during the day

How long does the dwarf brazilian take to flower?  I have had two for 2 years now and they are both about 5' tall pseudotrunk.  One has two pups coming and neither have had any sign of flowering.  They are in 20 gallon containers.

If you still have some of the 5 gallon banana varieties I can pick them up easily enough.

how is the taste of these?

Sete capotes, Precocious, Junin   Campomanesia guazumifolia

I have a bunch of fruit sets on mine, you can try some of mine in Santa Barbara in a few weeks if you want - or I can report.

I'd love to try some fresh!  We get up that way regularly for day trips.

Check the soil. It looks like it could be too wet.
Keep in shade and wait.
Don't overwater, just try to keep it humid

Think moving it indoors or grow lights would help it?
Definitely moist soil

Currently in the partial shade.  It was in pretty heavy shade to acclimate it from being in a box for 10 days.  I got it from Florida, so much higher humidity than southern California.  I have another Pitomba that I have had for 18 months and not sure it is grown a centimeter nor a single new leaf the entire time.

Lost as to the best route to take  :-\

I bought this from someone, shipped but sat in box for a week.  It seems to be getting a little worse. Leaves still soft but all curled.

Any advice?

Sent $160 over a month ago via PP.  Couple weeks later, plants were sent to wrong address, suite number listed as building number, and they were returned to sender.  It was acknowledged that they were returned and told on the 6th of July would try to resend them.  Sent two messages since and have not received a response.

They have been received.

Did not have tracking and desk never notified me I had a delivery.  They spent a week in the box at the desk.  I opened them up and every single one appears to be fine!!  Amazed.  Nice full green coloring on leaves, cpl tips browned.  One red jabo looks pretty tired from the travels but was still moist.  All had some some mix, wrapped in wet paper towel, and in a zip loc mostly closed over with leaves pretty much all outside.

I always panic when live plants are sent and race up as soon as I get notification they're delivered.  Relieved to find out when shipped carefully, they last quite a while.

Some of the players ts were bigger than I expected.  A very happy ending 😊 ☺️ 😀

I'd take #3 if still available?

Purchased a bunch of seeds several weeks back.  Great communication, fast replies, and arrived quickly.

Everything planted in aquariums with grow lights and heating mats.  After a couple of weeks I think I am close to 100% germination of the repanda and invulcrata seeds.  Awaiting rollina delicosia, psidium robustum, and giant piray....

Will definitely purchase again from huertasurbanas, some really great and rare stuff!!

Is it the fruit or seeds of abiu and peanut butter fruit?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Germinating tropicals in gro blocks
« on: June 23, 2022, 07:15:27 PM »
Wondering in anyone has used gro blocks used in hydro for germinating jaboticaba, annonas, eugenias, etc....

It would be in an enclosed aquarium for humidity and a grow light.

South bay like Long Beach area?  I am in Thousand Oaks, think the duguetia will grow here?  Or the others?  Zone 10a, pretty dry and brutal during the santa anas.
