« on: December 31, 2015, 04:31:12 PM »
Hi to all members
I like to know the grafting compatibility of the different artocarpus species within the genus. Especially I am interested to know the compatibility of them using artocarpus heterophyllus as rootstock because it is the most common.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / papaya issue
« on: September 03, 2014, 01:41:53 PM »
My papayas are growing well. They are my first home growing, so I am very happy :)
During the last inspection of the trees I realized that some fruits have white grains on the skin, like salt grains. If you remove them a few drops of white fluid like coconut milk comes out from the inner.
Is that bad? Have to worry about my fruits?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / How do you recover moldy seeds?
« on: March 18, 2013, 04:35:55 PM »
I often order seeds from different sources. A few times I got moldy seeds because of the bad quality, or bad packing. Sometimes they start to get moldy soon after receiving. If the mold is in the seed kernel (rotting) it is too late. Is there a way to stop the attack at the beginning, if the mold is on the outer shell of the seeds? How do you guys handle the seeds in that case?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Short lived scions
« on: February 22, 2013, 12:37:34 PM »
Hi to all fellows  :)
In another thread http://tropicalfruitforum.com/index.php?topic=634.msg59452#msg59452
we came to the conclusions (the experts said) that the scion wood of durian is only 2 days "alive". So shipping isn't possible. That means your rootstock and your scion wood must be available almost in the same place and time. For many of us that is an obstacle to grow some plants in our wanted list.
What is your experience?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Cambodian Durian
« on: February 06, 2013, 02:44:13 PM »
In Cambodia I tasted one more durian variety.

The taste is strong and sweet. I try to find the name of the variety but the conversation with local people in english was difficult. They said that the durian is a cambodian one. ?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Marang seeds
« on: December 14, 2012, 08:06:00 AM »
I got yesterday 20 seeds of marang (tarap) fruit from b-and-t-world-seeds. The seeds were in a zip locked plastic bag, just the seeds without any moisture. Are the seeds recalcitrant like jackfruit, or durian seeds?
